Can someone explain BB cream to me? It seems to.girl stupid me like it's just tinted moisturizer with a vitamin C tablet dissolved in it but it has to be.somthing else.

It's skincare, light foundation/tinted moisturizer and SPF in one. It's a multitasking product.

I've tried the Smashbox and the Garnier BB cream and really like the Garnier one. It has slightly more coverage than tinted moisturizer and just melts into my skin instead of sitting on top of it. It looks really natural and feels nice on my skin. I think it will be nice for summer so it won't feel like my foundation is melting off my face. It does make my skin shine a little, so I use the Tarte Smooth Operator loose powder over it just to take away the shine and then I'm good for the day.

I keep hearing it mentioned too and hadn't bothered to look it up. If it does everything you say, Mort, I may have to check it out for summer. I want moisturizer and spf when we're at camp and don't want my skin looking as raggedy as it would without makeup - but also don't really want to wear makeup.

Interro...it would be good for that, although, I think that the Garnier is only an spf 15, where the Smashbox is 30+, I believe. I was not as impressed with the Smashbox as I was with the Garnier (which is good because the Garnier is 1/3 the price). On the S&B board I've seen some recommendations for Clinique. I believe it has a higher SPF.

I like it for the weekends when I don't want a full face of make-up, but still want my skin to look evened out.

Broc, that's exactly what it is. They are sometimes sheerer than tinted moisturizers and are supposed to have lots of skin-beneficial ingredients. I'll post a link, if I can find it, to where I research products before I buy. I don't want to waste money on something that's not effective or is harmful/irritating.

I'm in love with the Garnier BB Cream. Like other said- it's got coverage that is between a foundation and tinted moisturizer, is really moisturizing and has SPF in it. I LOVE it! It gives my skin a dewy glow and keeps it moisturized throughout the day!

I've been using the Garnier BB Cream and people keep commenting how much younger I look and how nice my skin is. I mean, I never had bad skin to begin with, but I love the "youthful" glow that this stuff gives me.

I'm also using the Garnier BB Cream. For work, I use it as a primer. On the weekends, I can now go grocery shopping in the mornings without either A) going through my whole makeup routine or B) scaring small children. It has a thicker consistency than normal moisturizer, and a lighter coverage than foundation. I'm really digging it. If they threw a light self-tanner in there, it would be the perfect product.
