That’s tough. I have previously called & received refunds for when the cable or phone was out for a few days. But, we had power. If you had no phone/cable, but had power, then I’d call. But if you had no cable/phone BECAUSE you had no power, then I wouldn’t. The service was still available from their side. It just wasn’t available from your side due to the power outage from a different company. So it’s not their fault & they shouldn’t have to reimburse you, in my opinion.

That was my thinking, but a friend said that he was going to call and made it sound like that's a thing.
We're getting a rent abatement for the days when we had no power/water/heat even though it isn't our building's fault. I was surprised to find that out because it certainly wasn't their fault but hey -- I'm not going to question it (though I'd assume our landlord has some kind of insurance to cover it).
According to your contract, they likely don't have to refund it to you. I've never had luck in the past even getting a refund when it wasn't available even when power was on.
My cell provider is waving all text & data fees for the month, which is good enough for me. Hadn't thought about cable/internet. I might call.
Same here. I have verizon
I just did some internet searches and it sounds like Verizon is waiving text & voice overage charges from 10/29-11/16, but is not doing anything with data? Which is a shame in my case, because to the extent that I had any ability to use my phone, it was to try to use data, so if I went over on anything, it was data (also, we have unlimited voice and text anyway).
We have Comcast. Cable went out during the hurricane - we got power back two days later but the cable was out several more days.
MH has never really liked Comcast but that's the only option for our town. unless you get Fios, which he's been saying he wants to do unless Comcast can offer us a really good incentive to stay a while longer. Our friends have Fios and were able to watch TV and use their wireless as soon as they got power back.
I talked to Sprint, they will wave whatever fees I get during that time. But I had 0 cell phone signal for 2 weeks, so I had nothing. Really made me a bit upset since I had no way to call anyone or tell people that we were okay.

My parents have Comcast (only option in their area -- Fios isn't available there) and while their power is back as of last night, Comcast is still out for them. We have Time Warner, and it came back as soon as the power came back -- but people in Manhattan with Fios had major issues for a day or two after power came back.
(Our On Demand was iffy for a few days I imagine because of bandwidth issues because too many people were trying to catch up on shows that didn't tape that week, but THANK GOD TV and internet came right back).
Our power was out for 11 days, Comcast was out for an additional two days. Our electric company is giving us a credit of $25, Comcast is giving us a $42 credit. Definitely worth the call.
I thought about it, but like mrssavy said, I didn't have cable because I had no power. I keep getting calls from Cablevision apologizing for their outage and that they tried to restore the service as quickly as possible. They don't mention anything about a refund or credit for the time the service was out.

Who is your electric company if you don't mind me asking? And I'm assuming that since there was no power, I will not be charged for the 10 days we had no power. No usage, so there's nothing to be reimbursed?
