You can rent from their "hotel" area, or get a "beach cottage/cabins", which we did b/c we had two dogs (so yes, they are dog friendly too)! Oh, and b/c they have a kitchenette inside, and we liked to have breakfast there vs. with a large dining room or restaurant. We brought our own groceries. We went every Labor Day weekend.
The infamous Bubble Room (restaurant known for their Red Velvet Cake) is up the street, and honestly there are many water activities aged appropriate for all!

Another vote for Siesta Key. We were going to go this July but unfortunately had to change our travel plans. It looks gorgeous and I know we'd love it there. It seems pretty reasonably priced as well.
We are going to Marathon Florida (which technically is not a key) it is in the middle of the keys and about a hour to Key West. Far enough away from the party scene but close enough for us to take a day trip down that way. DD is 2.5 and this will be her first vacation. 3 more days!

lots of good recs here! Just make sure if you are going in an off season that you are far enough south that it will still be very warm -the tampa area/orlando and up can cool off a bit.
