I am signed up for my first half on the 24th. My last run was a 15k on the 4th, after which I promptly got the flu. I have not worked out since, and I am only just starting to feel human again (but still kind of crummy).

Well, 10 days.
I guess I am just worried because I am still not feeling very well, but I guess I won't die if I have to walk a little, right? That is the worst that can happen.
Being sick right before a race is the worst. Walking is just fine, and you're looking at an automatic PR. I would just do what you can as far as training, and then go out and have fun on the 24th. Lower your expectations a bit, and just enjoy the experience. You might surprise yourself!
It will be hard (but running always is) and you may have to walk some, but you will DO it, and you will surprise yourself. Once you start feeling 100% better you will be great, and it is normal to have doubts regardless before your first big race!
Just don't do what I do and try to train again too soon because you're worried about the looming deadline and end up making yourself sicker. You'll be better off not running much between now and then and being fully recovered.
Also, it's never shameful to walk during your first race of any distance. What matters is that you're out there challenging yourself!
A 15k is like 75% of the way there - a majority! You will be ok to finish. Maybe not as fast as if you hadn't gotten sick, but you can do it. And then next time will be like insta-PR!
You've got this! And you'll definitely finish-take walk breaks when you need to, and don't be upset if you don't get the time you wanted...it'll give you something to work towards for your next half (because after 8 HMs I can definitely vouch for them being a touch addictive )

Thanks everyone! This is helping.
I finally got out for a short run today, and I did not die. I did 4 miles and while the first two were excruciating, I was feeling pretty good by the end.
I am still not 100%, but I have more than a week and I am sure I will be feeling a lot better by race day.
