I know that you shouldn't take it while pregnant, but I have lately been reading that it is bad to take while ttc. Unfortunately, it is my drug of choice when I get bad headaches/migraines.
Should I stop taking it now or not worry about it until I am actually pregnant?
I know tylenol is safe, but that does nothing for me.
Technically it could prevent implantation so I would avoid in the two week window after ovulaton. That being said - don't be a hero. If your headache is really bad I would still take it. Tylenol sucks.
I think technically its a no-no. I avoided it for the 6 months we were TTC...until the month we actually did conceive because I was sure there was no way I could get pregnant. I had some awful virus with a 102 fever for 5 days followed by bronchitis. Then i tweaked my neck...and there was no way tylenol was going to do anything for it. So I went from no meds to taking all kinds that month.
I say use it of you need it...don't overuse if you can help it. Once you get pg Tylenol will be your drug of choice...which sucks lol.
think of all the women who get pg without even trying - they are taking all sorts of meds, drinking, etc... take it if you have a migraine.
I get migraines- and had them during both pregnancies. My OB allowed me to take it up to week 26... says that the real risk isn't until the 3rd trimester. I was also Rx'd some pregnancy safe pain meds- but they didn't help much for migraines (fioricet was probably best, but still not as good as an imitrex + advil!... vicodin didn't help me at all but helped me sleep at least).
ice pack your head - have some caffiene- and go for the advil ---- living with migraines is hard enough.
