I am on a "save money" rampage and really want to cut back our Verizon.
Currently we have extreme HD, 25/25 internet and HD DVR for $112 or so. I'd like to get it below $100. Honestly I'd be fine scaling back our plans but really want to get the lowest price for the best package. Don't we all?
Anyone successfully negotiate with them (as an existing customer) and have any tips to share?
I did this about 6 weeks ago with Verizon FIOS. They dropped the bill by $8. They said the discounts they have change periodically and to call back for a larger one another time.
Just call and tell them exactly that. That you need to save money and you want your bill under $100. They will tell you how to do that and give you discounts if they have them. I never find Verizon to be a pain with this stuff. I call every 3 or so months to see what discounts they have and they hook me up. Just be nice and they will take care of you. If not, call back and get another agent, lol.

You'll do better if you call and tell them you want to cancel. The cancellation people have the good deals.

Idk about that. I pay $92 a month for (FiOS) phone, internet, and HD DVR TV service with HBO and Cinemax. I don't think that is a bad deal at all.
