I guess I will end up doing gift cards for DS's teacher and assistant teacher. How much is acceptable? We are on a huge budget.
I was also thinking of doing something for his lunch assistants and the administrator/secretary. Bad to do a little gift instead of gift card for them? He only has lunch one day a week but he is often a little tearful and tired so they have been extra sweet to him. But there are quite a few assistants.

For preschool, we do $10-20 gcs to target and a Christmas ornament plus card.
For elementary school, we just contribute $20 to the class gift fund for teacher and assistant. At the end of the year we participate in the class gift and send a nice personalized note.
Like I said in the other post, even a token gift is very sweet. A $5 gift card to Target/Walmart or a local lunch place is very nice. Just write a thank you note along with it and call it a day.

Oh, and every Christmas at the preschool, we would send in a plate of goodies for the rst of the staff. That way we didn't miss anyone who worked behind the scenes.
