I've been having some major neck pain and I suspect it might be because my pillow isn't very supportive.
My sister has a Sleep Number pillow that she loves. She said she even takes it with her when she travels. We don't have a local sleep number store so I would have to order one from their website. We do have a mattress firm and they sell the Tempur-Pedic pillows.
Any thoughts/experience on pillows that cost $100+?
I have a Tempur-Pedic pillow and I love it. I have a ton of neck issues though, so it was what the doctor ordered. Also, it took some time to break in and some time to get used to.
I'm not sure I'd spend $100+ on a pillow. I was having neck pain and ended up buying a memory foam pillow from Macy's, made by Martha Stewart. I got it on sale for $25. It definitely helped me. I'd maybe try something like that first to see if it helps. This is the one I have (it comes on sale WAY cheaper). It is made for side sleepers, like me:

DH has some fancy tempur-pedic pillow his parents gave him last Christmas. I've tried it. It doesn't make me sleep any better than my $25 pillow from JCPenney. He likes it well enough, but says if it hadn't been a gift it wouldn't have been worth buying ourselves.
So I guess YMMV, but I personally am in the "a $100 pillow isn't really necessary" camp.
We got tempur-pedic pillows free when we bought our mattress and YES, totally worth it. That thing goes with me any time we travel.
Same here, but with the icomfort mattress. I love it and sleep much better with it, my DH isn't a fan of the pillow and still uses his old one. If it wasn't thrown in with the mattress, I'd probably try a cheaper memory foam type one first.
