I have been having chills since lunchtime, and have been sleeping on and off all evening. I also have a headache and just feel sort of out of it.
My right breast is tender and sore, but I don't feel any blocked ducts or hard spots or anything. I have been nursing as usual but it still feels "full" after my little one (she's 3 weeks) nurses. I have also pumped that breast but it still feels "full".
I have an underarm temp of 100.0, and my husband has gone to get a regular thermometer (what a time for all of our thermometers to die!) so I can check my temp orally. I have a call into my dr, but while I'm waiting - does this sound like mastitis?
If so, what can I expect? I had plenty of blocked ducts with my first daughter, but never felt like this.

i had it once after i had the twins..... i started having chills, which, for me always = a fever starting... my one breast was sore (nothing horrible- but noticable) so i called my OB right away (b/c a friend of mine didn't get treated fast enough and was literally having hallucinations b/c she got so sick with mastitis).... he called in an RX - and in a day I was almost 100%. It knocked my shit out that night. I was lucky i got meds fast.
I had that at three weeks with a higher fever and my doctors nurse called in a prescription for antibiotics for me on a friday afternoon after a couple of days of feeling like crap. Thanks to the cluster that is walgreens, they claimed they never got it so it was never filled. I ended up feeling better the next day.
What helped me was a heating pad for 15 minutes before nursing.
