So DH and I are super smart. We have 3 guest rooms now so we've been saying people can stay with us next week...except we don't have a mattress in two of the rooms! Whoops!
So I need two mattress options, and ones that I can get in a week. For the one that will stay our guest room forever(?), I'd like something decent that won't break the bank. Suggestions or things to look for? Is Costco the best option or should we go to a Mattress Firm type of place?
I've never been to Costco but H and I bought our guest room mattress at Art Van. It was inexpensive (don't remember how much exactly, but less the $500) and it is good quality. H loves it to the degree that sometimes he sleeps in there instead of our room.
We bought our mattress at Mattress Firm and the guest mattress at Ikea. I don't think you want to pay Ikea shipping, though. If you're interested in local companies, Holder Mattress is made in Kokomo. They have a showroom at the Design Center in Carmel, but I'm not sure of their prices. They're probably more than happy to negotiate though (as will any showroom, really). Both of these options should be able to get you beds by this weekend.

I vote costco. We bought DS's mattress there and it is really nice and was pretty cheap. Whenever we need another mattress we will be buying there for sure.
One thing I noticed at our costco is right now they have mattresses but no box springs. So if you need a box spring you might call ahead and check on that. I know ours has way more mattresses and box springs in January after they clear out the xmas stuff, so it probably depends on how much space the store has.
This is going to sound like a weird place to get mattresses, but I just got an email from Big Lots, and their ad that starts on Saturday has Serta mattresses with free foundations. I think their ad is posted on their website.
You might not have time to order, but I noticed our Costco had them in-stock last time I was there if you're looking for a full or queen. Also, it smells when you take it out of the box (kind of like sharpies/chemicals), but I just left the window open in that room and the smell was totally gone in a couple of days.

If Ikea is an option, I'd go with that. Some of their mattresses come rolled up so it would be easier to get two into a vehicle.
If not, check with your local mattress place and remember that price is VERY negotiable. Our current mattress was priced at $850 for the set (I was a broke singleton when I bought it, don't judge) and I ended up getting it for $550, including delivery and a bed frame.
