Hi! I've posted a handful of times here but just wanted to introduce myself. I'm about 6 weeks pregnant with my first. Very excited!!
I have yet to see a dr, but have a few questions about tilted/tipped uteruses (uteri?)
If you have one and have been or are pregnant, does it have any effect on your pregnancy? I'm thinking specifically in regards to bump showing later or having more severe back pain, any issues with the actual labor and birth, etc.
If anyone has any experience, please share! Thanks
For me it just meant that the HB was findable on the doppler toward the later end of the spectrum (12w), but that was all. I popped very early with both (despite being tall with a long torso) and felt the girls very early. It shouldn't play into l&d at all. Congrats!

I have a tilted uterus and it caused no problems whatsoever. I was able to hear both girls on the doppler around 10 weeks. I started showing around 16 weeks with my first, and around 12 weeks with my second. My understanding is that your uterus shifts during pregnancy and is no longer tipped (the majority of the time) by the time of delivery. I had relatively quick and easy deliveries.
That's great to know - thank you! I'll keep in mind that I might not hear the heartbeat until a bit later. That might have freaked me out had I not known lol.
I never noticed anything specific about how my uterus changed my pregnancy. My two pregnancies were different and so I generally feel like the tipping makes no difference. With my first I carried all over really so I looked like I had a lot of pasta rather than having a clear bump. With my second I had a well defined "bump" but I had a lot of hit pain.

Mine didn't tip forward until I was induced, but other than that, it was NBD. The heartbeat did take longer to find with the doppler (she ordered an u/s because she couldn't find it at 11 weeks, and it just took forever and a day to find it at 16 weeks...it wasn't a problem after that).
Edited to clarify: It did tip forward some throughout my pregnancy. It just didn't tip forward as much as it was supposed to as early as it was supposed to. At no point was my OB concerned.

I pregnant with #2 and have a tipped uterus as well. It didn't cause any issues for #1 or so far for #2. I do have back pain but I am not sure to what extent the two are actually related. My L&D with #1 was not bad at all (8 hours from start to finish, no real complications, etc.).
Both with #1 and this one, my dr. was able to find the heartbeat around 8 weeks with a transvaginal ultrasound.
With this one, I did purchase a handheld fetal doppler and I haven't been able to locate the HB myself yet, despite some trying at 9 weeks / 10 weeks (I'm about 10.5 weeks now). I'm thinking that the tipped uterus might have something to do with that, but I'm hoping to be able to pick it up in a few weeks.
I was told once by a PA I have a tipped uterus. Not really sure though. But with my pregnancy, people could not really tell until about 25 or 26 weeks unless they knew me. And I had zero problems delivering. I did have back pain pretty early on and it lasted throughout my pregnancy.
