To the powers of MM, since you guys are great at making me find things to buy, can you guys recommend good food based gifts that can be shipped for the holidays?
Previously, I've done cheeses from a local cheese store and lobster raviolis, for instance.
Local, niche, delicious but unusual items are highly encouraged.

There's a little restaurant on small town Iowa that ships the most delicious loose meat sandwiches (think Roseanne). It is called Taylor's Maid Rites. So yum!!
This is more dessert-y and probably not quite as rare as you're looking for, but I can personally vouch for Swiss Colony tortes and Harry and David moose munch.

My aunt got Christmas Stollen sent from somewhere...I avoided trying it because it looked really fruitcake-y, but it was OHMIGODSOGOOD!!! It's got marzipan in the middle. (I don't know if this is where hers was from, it's just the first one I found).
