$200 for the almost 4 year old and 50 for the baby. I planned on only 100 for the older guy but the one of the toys we go was 80 and I didn't only want to spend 20 more. I'm so glad to be done shopping already for the both. I'm not even looking at any more toys!!

Last year when he was 3 months we spent like $20 on an outfit and a toy. This year we probably won't spend too much more than that.--his birthday was in Sept and he still has like 6 toys he hasn't opened yet. Once he is older we know we'll spend more so we're being frugal while we can

I a likely going to buy each of them one big expensive thing from the nova naturals catalog (thinking the baby changing table for dd and the ice box for DS. Both are about 200$).
I just hate all the little random crap. They don't need it. I would rather buy one expensive thing and not have my house cluttered up with shit. My mil takes care of that just fine.
My parents are giving cash this year which will be used for a combo of zoo membership and new bedroom quilts, or something practical like that.

This sounds like us. We put away toys from his bday because we thought it would be more fun for him if we pulled them out periodically. And I know we'll do more later when he's older and can be more aware. Right now, he still has loads of fun when I let him play with my dental floss.
200 I think - but it's all stuff I likely would have bought anyway - a PBK anywhere chair and some random toys. So not a ton of stuff overall. The chair takes up most of the budget.
Her gift from us will be either this www.amazon.com/GuideCraft-G97325-Kitchen-Helper/dp/B000SQNAQC or a balance bike. We haven't discussed yet. My parents also usually spend $100-$150 on her and I feel like that is more than enough for a 2 year old.
I am not telling after reading these other amounts.
A lot.

I didn't even set a budget for our kids this year. I went shopping for the rest of their gifts today and spent WAY too much. To be fair, I never buy them toys aside from birthdays and Christmas so I had a blast getting to shop for them. DD1 was especially fun this year since she finally has things she's interested in.
They are getting a trip to Disney from Santa, which involves like $3K worth of airfare and hotels, so a lot. But the trip is because we are due for a family vacation and going right after Christmas was the best timing for us so we figured why not suprise the kids on Christmas morning and count it as a gift.
Beyond the trip I am guessing they will get about $100 each in toys from us, and a crapload of stuff from grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
We over bought for his birthday last month, so we are giving him the gifts we didn't give him then, plus a play kitchen, and a few stocking stutters. Total 150.00 ish??

We don't either. Heck, even bday I get them something small. Santa is a big deal in our house.
Growing up I only ever received toys or bigger ticket items at Christmas or on my birthday. That said, I assume once our child is old enough for say an iPod, that will be given at Christmas or birthday. So - I'm expecting once they are old enough to ask and want, we will be spending several hundred per kid.
Same went for receiving name brand clothes. We went shopping at the start of school, replaced a few things I outgrew along the way... but my parents saved special clothing items for gifting on special occasions.
No clue what we will spend on our baby/toddler next year. Not a ton I expect.

I've budgeted $50 for my then- 18M old but I buy a lot of (used) toys thought the year in addition to that amount. I have already purchased a Radio Flyer trike, a play grill/kitchen, and a basketball hoop in the past few months.

My kids get a gift each night of Hanukkah. Most are small, cute things, often from the $1 area of Target. I do give them each an ornament, so that's a bit more ($7 each this year since Disney was having a 2 for $14 sale and DD #2 had specifically requested a Merida ornament...so I just got #1 hers there, as well. But I definitely got away with something, there, because they're usually closer to $20 per kid). And I'll occasionally do one larger gift, either for each or if it's pricier like a DVD/Wii game/etc., it'll be shared.
I'm easily under $100 for both of them together. I don't set that as a goal, per se, but it's not hard to do since they're just as happy with the small stuff. I save the larger gifts as ideas for their grandparents and DH. He gives them each a Christmas gift, that they find under our tree when we come home from visiting our families for the holiday. I'd say he tends to spend $40-$50 on each, but there's no real budget so it can vary; he buys whatever he comes across that he likes.

We have about $400 budgeted for each, but since our youngest is only 3 months (and has all of his big brother's hand me downs to grow into) I doubt we'll even come close to half of that with DS2.
That said, we try to spend our money on experiences, not a bunch of stuff so he's getting a tricycle and a stocking full of "goodies" (Chuggington train, electric toothbrush, shirt, etc), but the remainder is being spent on tickets to Sesame Street Live, a Disney show, and a pre-Christmas trip to A Furry Christmas at Sesame Place.
We budgeted $250 for DD. Her big gift is a doll house from Santa, and that was just under $100. Other items are a dress up trunk full of costumes (pirate, doctor, princess, boxer, prisoner, dinosaur - all bought in Halloween clearance), a set of wooden dolls for the doll house, a set of zoo animal figures and a set of baby animal figures, a magnetic dress up puzzle, a couple of books and a play food set from Ikea (she already has a kitchen). Her stocking will have BabyLegs socks & tights, glow in the dark gack, a box of Hello Kitty bandaids, a Hello Kitty stamp, a little stuffed butterfly & snail, and markers that have markers on one end and stamps on the other. Oh, and an M&M candy cane (because we always got one growing up

Too much. DD doesn't have a lot of people that buy for her. I don't buy a lot of stuff for her throughout the year except for summer toys, so she does pretty well for Christmas and her birthday. I don't really keep track. This year I won't be spending as much as previous years. I am not doing a big gift this year. It also depends on the sales.
I actually bought a bunch of stuff back in January when the stores were putting their Christmas toys on clearance between 50-75% off. I bought some Disney princess costumes for 90% off after Halloween. I spent less on all 4 than I would've buying one play dress from the toy department. I also buy stuff I plan to buy anyway. Last year I got her snow boots, pjs with matching doll pjs, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, Chapstick, bubbles for the bath, roll on soap, socks, etc. I also like to hit up the after Christmas clearance for stuff for her Easter basket and birthday. There were a lot of Disney princess and Dora stocking stuffers that didn't have anything Christmas-y on them.
