I went with the handkerchief idea and finished them last night.
I originally thought about embroidering different "after someone sneezes" sayings from around the world. But then I realized that in French there's a perfect trio of phrases to use, and I had 3 handkerchiefs for him. So that's what I went with (my mom is from France and dad is fluent...so that's the connection).
So in french we say "a tes souhaits," when someone sneezes (to your wishes), if they sneeze again you say, "a tes amours" (to your loves), and the sneezer is supposed to say back "que les tiens durent toujours" (to your (loves) lasting forever).
I gave them to my dad at his party last night and they were a hit.
Rock-N-Voll- I did some embroidery when I was little, but hadn't done any in years. I used an embroidery hoop to do these, which made a night and day difference in the result.
