He was fussier than normal in the evening of his 2 month shots so we gave him a dose of Tylenol and then he went to sleep happily enough. We also couldn't cloth diaper for a couple days because the elastic bothered his thighs.
You're not supposed to give them anything prior to the shots because it will decrease the immune response making the vaccine less effective.

We do not do anything before. We typically do not give anything after either. They often make her sleepy. She did get a fever about a week after her MMR, you will not need to worry about that one at this point.
We didn't do anything before or after when she got them 2 weeks ago. She screamed like no other and then fell asleep shortly after. She slept most of the next day and a half but wasn't more fussy while awake so we assumed the injection sites weren't bothering her. I would have given her Tylenol if she was more fussy than normal.
Nothing before. Don't get Tylenol before - there is a study that indicates that it reduces the effectiveness of the vaccines if you give it before. Docs used to say to give it prior, but that has changed. My child was fine for the 2 month shots. 4 month shots were tougher - high fever, restless, etc, but we gave Tylenol after for 2 days. I do hang out around the pedi's office for a bit after to make sure the is no allergic reaction.
ditto no meds before = reduced efficacy. my 3 boys have rarely had any reaction at all other than soreness at injection site- which they can deal with... they get boo boos every freakin' day running around- i don't worry about a little boo boo from a shot.
