I read the blog The Nester (www.thenester.com) and like her style. She and another blogger had "a big sale" today not far from me so I decided to go.
There was a line when we got there but not too bad. However, as soon as we got inside the cramped space it was apparant that the first 20 or so people snatched up anything in sight. There were people walking around with tons of stuff and the line to check out was already loooooooooong.
I was disappointed... I mean, I guess I expected things to go fast but didn't realize it would ALL be gone before we got in there. Or, to be so crammed in there like sardines!
It started at 11am and we were back in our car by 11:10. The only stuff left behind was true yard sale stuff - clothes, shoes, toys, etc. Nothing home related.
That's the first and last time I'm bothering with a sale advertised on a blog like that. Unless I plan to be there WAY early and be one of the first in the door to grab things. Which is highly unlikely
sorry it didn't work out. Based on what I've seen with some other blogger yard sales they seem to all go insanely fast so I wouldn't say I'm surprised. They probably could have had a ton more stuff to resell and even have things to put out as the sale goes on to make it last a little longer and be more fair.
