Short attention span is totally normal for that age. And, I agree with what PP said about maybe there being too many options to choose from. My daughter (now 2.5) wanted nothing to do with anything I suggested, but would fall in love with something if I left it out for her to discover and she could choose it on her own terms.
I think it is me. When I'm upstairs and she is downstairs with my husband, she can play by herself for 30-45 min. When I come around, she follows me around, will whine when I get up, etc.
She did enjoy the glowsticks for quite a while
18 months = Separation anxiety. If you sit in one place does she wander off, then the moment you move she starts clinging? She's making sure she doesn't get left behind to ge eaten by a tiger when you go to gather roots and berries, but knows she xan explore while you're safely in one place. Massive PITA, but only a stage.
My kid doesn't play with many toys. She walks around the house with an empty milk jug she found in the recycling bin in one hand and a blanket in the other.
When she is with only me, she will want to be held all the time or she whines. With my husband, she plays by herself. With lots of people, she hams it up.
