I posted a photo of a bread I made; I had a few people ask me for a quick white bread recipe that they could use for sandwiches, pizza, etc. I'm widely known on my FB for recipes; if someone needs one, I can usually pull one out pretty quick.
Someone commented with "itd be nice if we all had the time to sit around making our own bread"
I pointed out that the bread takes all of 20 minutes from start to finish.
They followed up with "i have a day job i can't play susie homemaker all day long"
I pointed out that I don't, I just know how to make bread.
They followed with "i bet ur husband doesnt even like it. real men like real food"
LOL.
So homemade bread isn't real food?
I also want to point out that I don't think they've met a "real food" that isn't stuffed full of fillers and processed. Not all of us wants to live off of hamburger helper.
My philosophy for Facebook is "you know me well enough to know what or how I post, if you don't like it unfriend me or hide me". I follow the same rules for others, their status might irritate me a bit or get annoying but I added them and kept them knowing full well of their posting style. If it bugs me, I hide/unfriend instead of posting stupid comments.
However, while the other person was clearly in the wrong for her first comment, there was no need for you to engage and fuel the fire. You know she was just waiting for you to tell her that bread is easy to make.
That doesn't sound passive aggressive.. It sounds plain aggressive to me. It also sounds like that bitch feels like she needs to justify why she doesn't do the things you do.
All of those comments were totally rude. I would guess she has something else against you and it's not just the bread. Or she's just a huge bitch.
But I'm Susie Homemaker, no one hates Susie!
Miso, you're right, I shouldn't have engaged them. But I really sort of wanted to see what in the world someone had against bread so much they had to comment. I did have a good laugh at "real men like real food"

Yikes. Sounds like you are FB friends with a bunch of assholes.
I am NOT saying you are like this but I have a friend on FB who posts pics of everything she makes. and she is ALWAYS putting her status of things she did, made, baked, cooked or cleaned. It gets ANNOYING
I kinda sorta hate when people post food on Facebook. but that could be my PG hormones or the fact that I cant' cook worth a damn

I don't always post stuff or I just put it into an album. Maybe once or twice a week I'll post a recipe, maybe 2 or 3 times a month I'll post a photo of a food. Even then, it goes into the album.
I try to make a conscious effort not to flood FB with it.
Also, if I know someone who isn't a fan of it, I will customize my status and just hide them from seeing my status. ;D
