I've been working my way through the extended cuts of LotR. Fellowship and Two Towers were great, they added so much content in that gives back stories and some cool scenes from the book that they cut earlier. I haven't started Return of the King yet... it's FOUR HOURS long. FOUR. HOURS.
I saw Argo, too, and really enjoyed it. Brad is raring to go see Lincoln, but the voice. The voice makes shivers run up my spine. I cannot listen to that for 2 hours.
Has anyone seen Flight? That's on my list, as well as the new Bond.
We saw Skyfall on Saturday and it was AMAZING (I'm not even a huge Bond fan).
It was hilarious because right at a VERY pivotal moment in the movie, the screen froze but the audio kept going. We were in an IMAX theater, so putting my fingers in my ears to not hear the end until they fixed it did jack shit. It ended up taking them like 15 mins to figure out that something was up... and then another 15 mins to fix it.
But we got free movie vouchers. That AMC must NOT have been a happy camper that night!
Skyfall, Wreck It Ralph, and Lincoln are all on my "to see that FI will see too" list, and Les Mis and Anna Karenina are on my "to drag FI to" list. I'll probably get dragged to The Hobbit at some point. Whether I go willingly will depend on how good my Christmas present is this year.
I go to the movies like twice a year, so I can't offer any recent reviews. The latest Dark Knight movie was really good. I watched Chicago when I was in the hospital - I still enjoy that one.
The last movie I saw in a theater was The Raven. I really liked it.
We only go to a theater maybe twice a year. We just keep a record of what we want to see and buy the DVD when they first come out (they're usually around $10 at Target when they're just released).
Lincoln is definitely on the "to buy" list (normally anything relevant to American history ends up on that list). Les Mis is on there as well. I'm still deciding about Anna Karenina.
I haven't seen any lately, but DH and I are planning to go see Wreck It Ralph and Skyfall. I also want to see Flight and maybe Lincoln.
Not a movie, but I really want to see the new musical Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. DH and I love The Flaming Lips. But tickets are so darn expensive!
