I haven't ever had them but the new house has them. The wall oven is older than I am and the cooktop is not as old but both really need replaced. Has anyone bought one recently that they'd recommend? Or what do I need to look for? (Our stove in the current house was a "this one is on clearance" purchase.
If you have a Sears outlet near you, I think wall ovens and cooktops are on special for Black Friday. (I was just there on Sunday, LOL.) I don't have any advice beyond that.
We went with KA architect series II. I'm very happy we went with bigger ovens (30 in vs 27) and I like having both as convection ovens. We thought about getting just the top convection but now that I've used it I'm so glad we have both. I love the temperature probe too.
We did a 36 in gas cooktop too which I'm very grateful for -- that one has already gotten crowded on occasion! I love that the center burner has two burners so you can turn it up super hot to sear and then simmer without moving the pot.

We have the same KA cooktop as Boiler but in 30"; the size works for us. We also have side-by-side convection ovens we picked up at Ikea. Not helpful to you now, I know--but maybe in a few years after they open in KC.
In addition to our gas cooktop, we have a couple of countertop induction burners which we've been using a lot during our kitchen renovation. They are equally as fabulous as the gas but take some getting used to.
and I  it. Can't wait to give that baby a workout on Thanksgiving! Both ovens have convection which is nice and the gliding racks are awesome. If I was starting from scratch, I would have definitely gotten the 30" but we were replacing an older fairly small oven so we had to stick with the 27". I was also interested in the Bosch but it was a half inch too wide for our space.
Our cooktop is a GE natural gas one that came with the house. I like it okay but the smooth black ceramic underneath is hard to keep clean-looking and streak free.
We have the same ovens as Boiler, and would highly recommend them.
We have a similar cooktop to her as well, but ours looks slightly different because its a few years old. It was a $1300 cooktop or something like that, we got it for $100 at a sample sale. Bargain!
Our kitchen had all Whirlpool Gold appliances when we bought our house. Don't buy those, they are crap. We have had to replace most of them, and our house is only 8 years old. We replaced with Kitchen Aid appliances as the crappy Whirlpool ones died, and the KA ones have been awesome.
For the KA ovens, have you used the 'self-cleaning' option on them? We found a deal on a floor model - marked down to $1800 from $3100. I read the reviews on them & every review mentioned "DO NOT USE SELF-CLEANING OPTION - should be named self-destruct" Apparently using the self-cleaning option caused the interior glass to shatter.
We did not buy the ovens based on so many similar negative reviews. We're buying the GE Profile Convection Double Ovens (30 inch) on Black Friday, as they are marked down $800+
I really liked the KA ovens, but the reviews terrified me! If you have better stories, i'd love to hear them
Induction! I know Kitchenaid makes an induction cooktop. See my post further down. It's amazing.
I tried that with H and he asked me if I was high lol. Until our house sells, no big purchases, but we HAVE to buy a wall oven because it is ancient. I need to PIP it when I go over next.
