Toast. Pancakes. Waffles. Spoon directly into mouth.
All this, especially the bolded. (I also like it with peanut butter on toast since I didn't see the peanut butter part mentioned. Melty peanut butter - mmmm. Or just a plain PB and AB sandwich.)
I've made homemade poptarts with it as the filling.
I also make a great sandwich - toast ciabatta bread, mix apple butter with a little dijon mustard, spread on toasted bread, add ham, pear slices (optional), and swiss cheese. Broil/toast/heat until cheese is melty. Assemble.
You could probably incorporate it into a pork dish...like pork chops, either as a dipping sauce or marinade to grill.
DH had to pry me away from the jars of apple butter on the Amish display at Jungle Jim's last week. He knew how it would end. I need to just buck up and make it in the crock pot.
So yummy on an English muffin with butter. Slathered on fresh, homemade bread. Amazing on waffles. Makes a wicked PB and apple butter sandwich. Everyone pretty much covered the good stuff. I like to drop a spoonful in oatmeal, too.
