Oh man that's so rough! My h had night terrors as a kid and still "does weird shit as night," as we call it. He's especially prone to it if he's overtired or stressed. My MIL tells stories about having to put him in a cold shower to really wake him up, and only after that could he be consoled. I think that's totally against what they recommend now. I'd consult with your pediatrician ASAP.
DS does some form of this but he can is usually able to go back to sleep. He wakes up screaming in the middle of the night for no reason. I pop the pacifier back in and he calms back down. I have no idea how to fix it but it's slowly going away on its own. Last night, I didn't have to go in there once and it's been weeks since I last did this.
I hope the pedi has answers for you guys. It does sound like she might have something else going on. Are her naps normal length at the sitter's house? I can always tell when DS hasn't napped enough at daycare b/c he does the night screaming thing.
Is it another molar? The runny nose plus the night shenanigans also coincide with really bad teething for DS. ::hugs:: I know it's rough, but hopefully you can let your mind rest some after you see the pedi.

I don't think it sounds like a night terror. However, I will say that DS had a night or two like that and we never figured out what it was. :-( Luckily it wasn't a regular thing.
That doesn't sound like DS's night terrors. He had them periodically from about 1 year to 2 years. He would be inconsolable and asleep and we would have to let him cry. It was terrible. \\
