good morning! my former-neighbor is in town (who lives in chicago now) for thanksgiving. i'm very excited to visit with her and see her 5-ish month old baby girl!
h and i have been working on reorganizing our man-cave/bachelor pad downstairs and right now the house just looks like a mess. i hope you guys don't mind the mess for mk's party...it'll at least be pushed to the side
we have power, and we live at the top of the hill, so we won't flood..and the neighbors at the bottom of the hill i don't like much anyways . it was garbage day at the IL's house yesterday, and when i went to pick up bjl, it looked like a tornado went through. trash cans, everywhere!
Morning everybody! The family drama is mostly over, all we have left in the short term is some paperwork, and lighting some money on fire, but I've resigned myself to that one. Today we're going xmas shopping (it's a little early but I want to give some people their gifts while I'm here) and then having out with sister L and her Canadian in laws.
Have a good one and enjoy the count down to Turkey day!
Powering through parent teacher conferences today and part of tomorrow and then I'm done for the week! I am so unmotivated to get up to get ready to go in. I'm waiting until the absolute last minute!
We live on top of a hill, so no flooding fears here. Our power did go out for a minute yesterday. And then we had 1 giant clap of thunder and b went berzerk. I've never heard her bark before and she barked for almost a minute straight. She has a cute and pathetic little bark. H got it on video because it was so cute and it never happens. I'm going to brave costco today. I'm hoping mk will tell me it wasn't that bad last night. If I don't return tomorrow, send a search arty. I might be curled up in the beef jerkey,
UW, Costco was a cake walk last night! I was shocked. They were out of lemons though, and I needed a crap ton. So now, I get to brave the grocery store 2 days before T-day, to be the crazy girl buying a crap ton of lemons and nothing else.
Trader Joes, on the other hand, was a mad house. Screaming children everywhere. I wouldn't recommend.
Good morning! It's my last day of work this week. I have a ton to do and it's gonna be hard to focus. Just a couple random errands to finish tonight, then lots of cleaning, dog bathing, cranberry sauce making and veggie chopping to do tonight. And sleeping in tomorrow!

Good morning! I took Tman to school today even though he still has a bad cough. He hasn't had a fever since Sunday, and he has so much work to cram into this short week. I went inside and talked to his teacher and told her to call me if she thought his cough was too much to be in school.
I went to Winco thinking it was going to be busy, but it was easy. I didn't get a cart, though, because I couldn't remember what I was there for. I just got a hand basket. Anyway, I ended up with several small items, a big jug or orange juice, a big thing of laundry soap, and a big thing of vinegar. I'm sure I looked like a big weirdo trying to carry them all. Should have got a cart (or buggy as they say in the south - have you guys heard that? weird.).
I am going to be able to do my housework and try to finish my Christmas decorations in peace today.
Oh, I went to the post office this morning to buy stamps for our Christmas cards at the self-service kiosk thingy. It would only let me buy those metered type ones. It was so weird and I was really irritated. I ended up not doing it. I have bought stamp books at them before, but apparently they have changed them. Lame.

Good morning!
Just another day here. DH is making Turkey Day dinner, so we're doing lots of prep work after work, but nothing too bad. Last night he roasted sugar pumpkin to make pumpkin pie. My job is to make the crust tonight.
I am having such a hard time getting up in the morning. It didn't help that Wrig's slept until 7:30 today. Normally he's the one to motivate me to get out of bed. I have a dentist appointment at 10:30 I'm not looking forward to. I don't know why I get such anxiety with the dentist. I have this fear that it will somehow hurt even though I'm only going for a cleaning and it's never hurt. I love my dentist though. He has a dog in the office that is trained to calm patients down.
H irked me this morning. He was at work yesterday and today is going Christmas shopping with a buddy. He said he'd call yesterday and tell me if he was going to take Wrig's to camp. Well he called at like 7:45 this morning. I told him don't bother I'm already taking him.
UW - can you do me a favor and price out their faux Christmas trees for me? I'm in the market for a new one and I think Target or Costco is going to be the best place to go. I'm looking for a 6-7.5ft pre lit with white lights. Just your standard Douglas fir looking one. If anyone has any leads on faux trees send them my way. I really need a new one and I have zero time to shop/price compare. I refuse to pay over 300 dollars for one.
Just a normal day in paradise for me (thank goodness!). No flooding here, for now. My house doesn't flood, but behind my work it does. We had to park in front yesterday because the water was at the front of our bumpers.
We aren't flooded and we have power too! Thank goodness.
I didn't go to spin last night because i was worried traffic would be a nightmare because of the rain.. and i was right! thank goodness. I am sad I didn't go but happy because i hate traffic.. but can i just tell you how sad i am that i didn't realize how awesome spin was until a few weeks ago?? i seriously LOVE it. i'm doing a class on thanksgiving morning to get ready for the feast that will happen later that day. pretty stoked.
h helped me not eat any cake last night, which was so sweet of him. i don't know if it's because thanksgiving is so close, or because i'm being SUPER good, like better than ever with my food intake and exercise because i have a very specific goal i'm trying to make by thanksgiving morning, but i'm STARVING! i just seems like it's never enough.. even when it is definitely enough. i've been downing water and drinking tea like it's going out of style and nothing helps. eating more protein and fiber but that doesn't seem to help either. lol.
otherwise, it's super busy at work. i have jury duty next week so it's gonna suck.. coming back to all of this work, but whatevs. pray i don't get picked!
Good to know. This is totally doable for me too. There is a Michaels right by my house. I can run over after we put bkb to bed. Yay! Still keep me posted on other deals you guys see though
I've been kinda MIA dealing with a bunch of stuff lately. Today I went and got all the fixins for Thanksgiving dinner, I have a much-needed massage appt this afternoon, and am meeting with a new therapist tonight.
ETA: Are people really getting flooded?? That seems so crazy to me. I live on the ridge in Redmond, so I don't have to worry about that.
Went to yoga then to FM to get what we need for turkey day dinner. Stupid FM was out of all reasonably priced pecan pieces and despite having space on the shelf for two rows of Jiffy cornbread mix, they were completely out. Got everything else...except the lettuce to bring to work for lunches this week.
Tonight I have to try the FM next to my house and thinking of hitting Kohl's or Cost Plus for some cloth napkins as I don't have 7 all the same nor do I feel like sewing them all tonight when I have no iron to press the seams.
