I am starting off this pregnancy about 10 lbs under where I started off with DD. (110 lbs vs. 120, at 5'4".) I was in regular jeans a size or two smaller than what I was wearing when I got pregnant with DD as well.
I definitely can't button my jeans anymore and the Bella band has been suiting me fine, but this morning I had somewhere to be and no clean jeans so I dug out my maternity jeans. They are pretty big on me--not just in the belly but in the butt and thighs, they're just big all over. I'm sure they are partly stretched out from the last pregnancy but since I'm starting out smaller this time I'm thinking that's part of the problem too.
Is it worth it to buy new maternity jeans in my correct size or do you think my ass and thighs will catch up to my old jeans pretty quickly? If you were smaller going into your second pregnancy than you were with your first, did you catch up or did you stay smaller for the entire pregnancy? I'm just not sure what to expect this time around.
I started out 5-7 lbs. lighter w/#2, but my endpoint was almost exactly the same for both pregnancies: it was like my body had a 'set point' for the end of pregnancy.
Jeans a size smaller for me would've made them too snug at the end, but I'm one of the unlucky ones whose butt/thighs/hips change early on in pregnancy, too.

This. I weighed even less when I got pregnant with my third, and still ended up at the same end weight. I wore the same maternity clothes for all three.
Thanks. I have a feeling the weight is going to come on pretty quickly once I am done with morning sickness, which should be soon, so I think I will look for some smaller pants on consignment. I have no doubt that I will probably end up close to where I did last time, but if I can do it cheaply I'd love to have something comfy that fills the gap in the meantime, especially since I won't be wearing jeans much past my 6th/7th month here in the south.

I was smaller when I got pg with DD, and I gained about the same amount of weight, so I guess I wasn't as huge at the end with DD as I was with DS. But my maternity wardrobe was mostly hand-me-downs and in a variety of sizes, so I was generally able to find something that would fit at the right time.
