I was about to sign up for Ebates then thought somebody may have a referral code. If any of you have an Ebates account and can get perks if I sign up with your referral let me know.
I keep forgetting to use ebates. I just ordered stuff off amazon yesterday.
amazon isn't fantastic with ebates..it's only select roational categories...i never buy anything during the times they are featuring...but we use it a lot for lowes, HD, groupon, nordstrom.....
I get "bonus" points through my CC if I sign into my CC's reward site, click on the etailor's link and shop through that. The way I understand it is that ebates is like that too.
Can I double dip through my CC rewards and get cash back through ebates on the same purchase?

I don't think you can. Ebates you'd have to launch the window through their site to get credit. You get cash back in the form of a check for the % rebate being offered. I would look to see which site would give yout he most for the money and go from there. At Ebates I've seen as high as 10% back.

Dumb question: what is ebates? I'm too lazy to go look.
it's a click-through website. basically, you go their website, find the link for the internet store you want to shop at, click on it, and buy whatever you want. they give you a % of what you buy.

So how do they make the money to give back to you? Do they charge retailers? Or just sell the data about you clicking through? Or get a referral rate higher than the % they pay you?
my guess is that it's a referral rate. there's a lot of companies that do it...ebates is the biggest and the main one i use...shopathome and a few others..i don't remember. credit card companies offer it, too...

Just to add to jennlin, I have been a member for a year and haven't gotten any spam from being a member there. All my spam is from places I regularly shop
