We bought it from the Belmont Lions Club last year, and probably will again if the have small ones. Our apartment is too small for a full-sized tree; it was way too cramped in here last year.
We were out in western MA a few weeks ago (like, pre-Halloween), and there was a sign advertising live Christmas trees for sale. Because who DOESN'T love to huddle around a completely bare fire-hazard on Christmas morning?

We go to McKay's Christmas Tree lot - behind IHOP in Brighton. We have gotten one there every year for as long as I can remember. We grab brunch at IHOP & then go pick out our tree. They are pretty affordable. We've never paid more than $50 (before tip) & usually we get a 7'+ tree.
We buy ours at Pemberton Farms in Cambridge. They're pretty affordable (we usually get a 6' tree for ~$45) and I like supporting small local businesses.
We go local as well. We buy from Ricky's nurseries down the street. We literally walk it home.
According to Caleb it magically goes from being the "pumpkin store" to the "christmas tree store".
We've usually done Lowes in the past but I really wanted to support local business this year so we went to Russel Farmstand in Woburn. The owners are great and I did business with them for my work so I've started to form a relationship with the place.
The tree was definitely pricier then what we would have spent at Lowe's but I think thats in part because my husband insisted on the 9' tree. I'm sure watching us carry it into our house was hilarious for our neighbors.
