It has finally arrived the day we stuff ourselves silly, watch football and drink too much! Have a fabulous day.
I woke up at 450 this morning to buy tickets to the Wembley NFL games. We are officially going to Europe at the end of September one of the stops will be London for the Steelers Vikings game.
Morning everybody! It's almost 9am here. Mom & I are slowly getting ourselves ready to hear over to sister L's house. The whole trip has been way lower drama than I thought it would be. Mom is a little crabby, L is a control freak and thinks dad can't do anything right, but there hasn't been any take flipping or screaming for someone to get out of the house or anything.
Niq, glad the drama is lower than expected! That's a pleasant surprise.
I think I need to just freaking move to the east coast at this rate. Coco decided to get me up at 6am sharp. I'm trying to get her to entertain herself so I can nap on the couch or wind down so I can put her in bed.
I got *almost* everything done yesterday, including all the dishes, so today won't be a whole lot of work. I'm actually really excited to have the family over. It's definitely the fun side of the family that's coming.
H and I went to happy hour last night because there was no way I was cooking a seperate dinner, then he took me to get a Chinese foot massage. Best thing ever after standing on hardwood floors cooking all day. Then he decided we needed to watch Four Christmases since we had relatives coming over today. He's been super helpful with thanksgiving this year.
Niq- glad the family drama has been kept to a minimum.
MK- I'm so impressed at all of your cooking!
Fiddles- Plug your sink and fill it with hot water, run a very sharp knife on the edge of the mold. Dip the Outside of the mild in the hot water for 10-20 seconds. Have a plate handy and invert the mold on the plate. It should slide right out. www.ehow.com/how_2123426_remove-jello-from-mold.html
We're just gearing up for a day of eating over here in the husky household.
Morning! I got drunk last night.... which is saying a lot considering I never drink. I am proud of myself that for once I didn't drink so much that I blacked out. Bars are a fucking nest market and h wasn't with me so I got hit on soliloquy Mich. Men just don't say no. I probably should get out more or never go beck to that super sketchy place... lol
On another note,h is at work and was supposed to be home 4 hrs ago... I'm a little concerned considering we are meant to leave for glad in 3 hrs.... and he has been working since yesterday.
Although I over induldged last nihhtw, I plan to eat as many of my uncle's deviled eggs and as much food as I can fit.
And aslo spin is out... I'm pretty sire id smell like a vela bottle if I went....

Good morning. It's a late wakeup for me as I got a little tipsy last night on one of my favorite beers. Oops
I'm getting ready to head over to my moms house now so that I can help her cook. MIL and SFIL is headed over there later so I'm going to get my drink on early. We are also going to try and squeeze some family Christmas pictures in there somewhere, should be interesting!
I made a pumpkin and an apple pie last night an they both turned out great! I'm looking forward to turkey skin and my brother's appetizers!

We've been up for a few hours. We are going to be leaving in a few minutes. I'm just waiting on a load of laundry to finish. We will be heading down to Seaside, will check in to our hotel around 3pm, and will have dinner at 5:15. We are going to a buffet that looks awesome - hope it is.
I've been up since 6am west coast time bc I was hearing a random rooster for about two hours. I swear it was a rooster, perhaps letting the world know that it was not a turkey so please don't kill it.
Anyhoo- just chilling at my dad's house now. The extended family will be here at 5. I plan to do lots of nothing from now til then!

Happy Thanksgiving! I slept in, which was fantastic, but I woke up to my crazy downstairs neighbor's loud, drunken conversations. I'm not sure if she's on the phone, or talking to herself. I hope she passes out soon, so I don't have to hear her anymore.
I'm not leaving for Thanksgiving dinner until 3:30, when my H gets off work. My afternoon will be full of watching the National Dog Show
I stayed up way too late last night. Dragging today. So I bought this fresh loaf of GF bread from a local bakery. I intended to use it for stuffing. Well I just cut it all up and tasted it and it's really sweet. It's like a honey oatmeal bread or something. I hope it doesn't ruin the stuffing. Do you think I can just add extra salt? I'm making a typical herb stuffing with celery, onion and apple.
it might be ok, although I'll admit maybe would be my favorite. I would just cut down on the sweet things you would normally add (like apples, raisins etc).
I posted this on Facebook.....it still applies....and I am feeling too lazy to retype something, because i've been drinking.
My Thanksgiving Day: It was Sports Day at school. H came to spend the day with me and help out with the activities. It was so much fun! Then, after the students went home, we had a school wide meeting where the Director gave thanks to teachers and staff for their hard work. After the meeting, the school had prepared a Thanksgiving meal for us, WITH a turkey! It was great for them to be so thoughtful to celebrate our holiday! I love teaching in Egypt at an international school. Last week, we celebrate the Islamic New Year, this week we celebrate Thanksgiving. What a wonderful blending of cultures!

kinmir - I think that's fantastic! I know you were missing home. I hope the Thanksgiving helped heal your heart from missing home!
We woke up super early. Made brunch at 11 with mimosas, took a nap and then started Thanksgiving. We ordered pulled turkey from the BBQ pit and picked it up last night. Made a simple dinner for two (or three if you count the turkey plate the cat got!) and relaxed around the house.
Yah it was pretty great for them to do it for us, and to just acknowledge that we were celebrating a holiday, even though we were working. The turkey was the only thing that was true to Thanksgiving. Everything else was very traditional Egyptian food, but it was still a nice meal. ....A little taste of America.
