We have so much food left over. Somehow we always end up making too much food. And there's so damn much bread. I love bread, but the amount we bought is ridiculous.
The best part is that we got 5 bottles of wine, and only drank 2 1/2. I am now enjoying more wine.
DH and I were invited to our DIL parents' house. We brought pies and cranberry sauce. The food was good, but going to someone's house keeps you from having leftovers the next day. The only leftovers we have are.....pies and cranberry sauce.
But, to get around the no-leftovers dilemma, we're going to have a mini-TG dinner on Saturday. Then leftovers on Sunday.
I have the best of both worlds. We go to my parents and my mom cooks and sends us home with TONS of leftovers. FI told her he was eating stuffing with a side of turkey so she made a double batch of stuffing!
Brad's job was to plan things for the weekend and since he seems to have nothing planned for the day, I have made my own plans.
This sounds like an excellent idea.
I'm supposed to be meeting my parents for breakfast in 7 minutes. I still have to get dressed. Being snuggled by little furnaces masquerading as cats makes it really hard to get up.
I plan on having leftovers so that, for the most part, I don't have to cook the rest of the weekend. I did use leftover turkey and made turkey pot pie tonight. It got really cold today (think the high was 36) so hot pot pie was great to have! and btw, our furnace has decided not to work. We're heating the family room with a small ceramic heater that we have. H looked at it, he's usually able to fix just about anything and has repair furnace in previous homes before but I'm thinking we may need to call furnace guy this time.

This is what we do the weekend before Thanksgiving, make our own little turkey dinner so we have leftovers.
