I'm up early. It's too cold/windy/blustery to take Rubes out this morning so I got up super early to take care of my outside chores while she was asleep.
Today I think Rubes and I are just going to hang out. Thinking about cleaning the oven, washing the insides of the windows, laundering all the stuff I never do (throw blankets, slipcovers etc), catching up on kindle reading (Yay! Fun $2.99 or less downloads, there's some great ones this morning actually), getting my treadmill time in.
Low key and relaxing.
I wanted to head over to our little touristy/gift shopp-y town for gifts and to see the light parade later but it's so cold, Rubes as sniffles and is burned out from 2 days of party with my relatives. I need her well for the weekend as Hs family as Thanksgiving. She might just watch Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and have a party day. Meh. Whatever. The local stuff will always be there and the only deal I really wanted was online at Land's End but doesn't sale until tommorow anyways (slippers).
I need to get motivated! - We're having 50-ish people over next Saturday and I need to start cleaning now. - We need to install new carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. - We need to paint the inside of the front door, the stair rail/spindles, and put new outlets in our entry way so that it can be "finished". - I need to go through all of the clothes/crap we want to donate to record the info and photograph it so that we can deduct it at the end of the year.
Really, I just want to lay around and watch TV or read all day.
Aww...Bummer! I already worked today if that makes you feel better! Cows don't care what day it is..lol. I'd be doing more actual work if it wasn't for Rubes at the moment too.
I know quite a few people at work today if that's more consolation. After yesterday's discussion I gathered about 3/4s of my relatives are at work today.
It's a bit depressing after yesterday's sluggishness to get to work, but honestly, you're not missing much..lol.
Haha. It sucks that most of my friends and family were all "Hey! What are you doing tomorrow? Want to come shopping with us it's going to be fun!" And my response is "Oh, yeah, um...I have to work." I haven't had "Black Friday" off work in 6 years, so I'm used to it, but we're not super busy at all which makes it stupid. We're a wholesaler to a few major retailers, so we have to be "on call" in case something crazy goes down and they need an emergency shipment or adjustment. If I was actually doing work and feeling useful it would be different, but I'm pretty much just interneting. :-p
- I need to go through all of the clothes/crap we want to donate to record the info and photograph it so that we can deduct it at the end of the year.
I did not know that people photographed the stuff they donate....we just donate and then try to put a value on the receipt and hope that DH can find the receipts when he is working on the taxes. ;p
We have no definite plans today...nothing that requires leaving the house. I think DH may do some yard work and hang the lights, and I will just do laundry and see what else I can purge or pack up.
Not a whole lot. I'm just wrapping up doing a couple hours of work remotely from home. I'm going to shower and see how I feel. I broke one of my favorite mixing bowls this morning so I may actually run over to Marshalls to see if I can find another one. Other than that, a little light cleaning and possibly some laundry, and then just relaxing and reading - I have 3 library books I need to get read within the next couple weeks.
I'm working. But I have only kids and two leave at noon. And its snowing. So I think today I will set them up with playdo and maybe a movie if I feel not too guilty, and then do some laundry and maybe baking.
Yesterday I barely survived and felt like a wrung out rag by the end of the day, so I am taking it easy today.
What books did you get Dairy? I have the kindle app on my ipod and always look for new cheap books.
Did you get your package yet?? It didn't get sent until this week (Thats what happens when I cannot get to the post office and depend on DH to not forget the package in his truck for a week. Sorry)

Morning! I bought a couple Christmas gifts online this morning.
Best Buy had free shipping and FIL wanted the newest season of BBT on DVD. I got if for 8.99 on Best Buy + free shipping. Score.
While on there, I bought H a DVD/Blu-ray/Wi-fi player he wanted that was $30 off and also free shipping.
Not planning to brave the crowds today. H is working and I plan to eat leftovers and be lazy, maybe grade some papers if the feeling moves me. He also brought up the Christmas boxes so I'm going to put up decorations and tonight we're putting up the tree.
We're also adopting/rescuing a dog around Christmas, so I am beginning to do my research into area vets, etc. and looking up adoptable puppies online. Oh my gosh. I die from the cuteness.
I'm putting up my first ever Christmas lights. I have to hang a wreath on the front door and change out my mantel decorations. I might do some shopping online again for some brass reindeer. I really want some for my Christmas mantel stuff, but I haven't found any that I (a) love and (b) can afford. I've found plenty in either category, but nothing in both.

Sorry your kiddos are awful. Does Auntie Dairy need to pay a visit to the Fuzzyhearts Daycare and whip them into shape? JK. Hang in there.
For books I got: The Slaughterhouse Five (I read it in HS but don't remember it at all, and hey for $1.99 I should get brushed up), Pearl of China and First They Killed my Father (about a Cambodian refugee camp). I LOVE political/historical fiction and non fiction.
Don't worry about the package. I didn't get it yet. With the holiday this week, it might be a bit, NBD.
A little bit of this, a little bit of that... I decorated the Christmas tree today, and I'm unimpressed by how it turned out. I don't know what it needs, but it's just... Blah. I've been doing a bit of work downstairs, cleaning floors, hanging blinds, opening boxes that have been in storage for almost 2 years! Later, me and DH are getting out to shop a bit, dinner together, and probably a movie. We have an overnight sitter so maybe we won't come home, lol.
Actually the kids were good. I had 2 babies, one who was teething and one who is just a really clingy needy kid so it was just very busy. And of course every kid had to poop twice and the one baby had the worst diaper that actually made me throw up it was so bad.
They all have runny noses. We were stuck inside because of the cold.
The phone rang at nap time and woke up my littlest baby who screamed for 30 minutes.
It was a combo of the busiest day eva and a parent who is the most awful parent I have ever met driving me nuts. Seriously her kids are fine for me all day, although very needy and demanding but I can't blame them. And she comes in the door, and they are both screaming and kicking like infants on the floor.
I have dealt with moms whose children are taken away. I have had moms not show up to get their kids because they are on a drunken bender somewhere...I have seen it all in my years of working in daycare. And I honestly think this mom is worse than them all. She does every single thing wrong...like OMG WTF are you doing wrong. Sure her kids are fed and clothed and housed, but she is raising them to be monsters.
"Oh yeah today is a quiet relaxing day. I will just do barn chores at 6 am, and then clean my oven and bake Christmas cookies, while also doing 4 loads of laundry and taking care of a toddler. LAZY I tell you." haha.
We went Black Friday shopping around 5am and got back about an hour ago. I picked up some Christmas presents and my DH got a gigantic 52 inch TV (ugh). I also got some toys at good prices for Zeke and the dogs at the shelter we adopted him from. Now I'm just sitting on my butt until I can fall asleep. I will be going on a run today, but not yet.

Cleaning up more from Thanksgiving with H. He is not working today thank goodness. LOL Thanksgiving was a blast. Everything went of without a hitch. I hate shopping in crowds. So I only do online black friday shopping. My SIL was trying to talk me into going to Target at 9pm last night. She got a resounding hell to the no. I'm not insane.

I did not know that people photographed the stuff they donate....we just donate and then try to put a value on the receipt and hope that DH can find the receipts when he is working on the taxes. ;p
H's aunt does our taxes and that's what she recommends. The IRS seems to target us for corrections, so I like to be extra careful anyway.
The good news is that all of the painting is underway and the carbon monoxide detectors are all up, so progress is being made on the list. Hopefully I can pound out all of the donation stuff tomorrow.

Went shopping this morning w my mom & sister. Just kohls where I got a new pillow. Then petsmart because I'm getting my nephews a beta fish and all the stuff for Christmas. So now I only have 1 more gift to buy to be DONE!
Then my dad and I went to lowes and got all of our plumbing stuff for the new bathroom. Sucks that we can't start because DH didn't move the joist he said he would and I can't get my belly into the crawl space to do it. My dad is already doing so much and I can tell he doesn't feel comfortable doing it. Grrrrrrr. These last reno's before we sell are going to make us require marriage therapy. Not joking in the slightest.

Ha! Thanks. It's just me. I like all that busy random sort of junk. Makes my whole week. And when I have school and farm I never get caught up on that sort of stuff. I'm just excited to do it at my own pace for a change.
We slept in, did a little shopping, and just put up tree #2. Now it's time for a nap. I need to finish the staircase garland this afternoon. Tonight we're going to my favorite restaurant with two other couples (out close by couple BFFs and our far away couple BFFs who haven't met each other yet!).

We are headed home from my mother in laws. Had a very nice thanksgiving yesterday much to our surprise. We were dreading it. I only got the baby question once and that was from Dhs grandpa and DH helped laugh it off by saying you can beat perfection aka niece. Once we unload and unpack I'm going to hobby lobby with my mom and then might start decorating. I'm not motivated today at all I'm running low on sleep. We got into mils at 1am yesterday after I worked all day and then drove the trip. I got woke up at 630 yesterday and 730 this morning and I'm totally not a morning person I mean I work late evenings and usually don't go to bed until 1230ish.
NOTHING. Coming off of DD's birthday party on Saturday and hosting Thanksgiving yesterday, I made sure that no one (including myself) was expecting anything of me today.
DD spent the night at my parents' house after dinner at ours, so DH and I slept in, went out for breakfast, saw Skyfall, grabbed lunch, and came home. Since then, I've finished putting away dishes from Thanksgiving, mopped the kitchen floor and folded a load of laundry, now I'm just messing around on the internet in a blessedly quiet house.
Eventually my parents and aunt will bring DD back and stay for dinner (leftovers), but who knows when that will be.
