... of the movie coming out?
I'm so excited for the movie. It looks visually stunning. But it's one of those books I've always meant to read but never got around to. Finally downloaded it today (free ebook) and started reading. So far, so good!
I can't wait for the movie. I read the book a few years ago and I liked the story but I have to say, this is the only book I can think of where an abridged version would have been handy. There were long boring chapters devoted solely to farming techniques and farming theory.
I just read it this summer. I really liked the main threads of the story (Anna, Vronsky, Levin, Kitty,..), I agree with Mollymoe that I could do without the digressions.

I downloaded the free Kindle version this weekend. I have not started it and did not know there was a movie coming out. I may make a stab at it on the plane on the way home when I finish Urn Burial.
U read it earlier this year during a read along with the NBC. It was painful to read and not the mist enjoyable story, but I still want to see the movie.
I read it early in the year because it was one of those "bucket list" reads for me. I really liked it. I have a weird affinity for tangential theological and agricultural musings in books.
I've heard that the movie is kind of all over the place, like they were trying too hard to be edgy and artsy, but the little that I've seen in promo stuff looks gorgeous.
I'm getting through the book very slowly. I like it so far, but it's just taking me FOREVER. I wanted to have it finished before seeing the movie, but now I'm not so worried about that. I do want to finish it though, just not really in a specific timeframe.
I just downloaded the nook version for 2.99. I love long meandering books but I am not sure I am going to be able to get through the farm theory being that I don't even know what that is lol.

Just do what I did and skip those chapters The farm theory was really just discussions about the best methods for farming. I think there were also chapters on the differences between the social classes.

I'm about halfway done. The farming stuff is strange... I guess this has some historical importance at the time the novel was written. I do like it though. Just saw a commmercial for the movie. I'm so excited for that!
