I'm stumped on picking a new rug for our entry way - I'm pretty sure I've looked at over 10,000 on Rugs USA. H would prefer something "not boring" because the walls are very light (SW Conservative Gray). The largest we can go is 7' x '7. Here's the entry way currently:
These are the ones I'm considering, but I'm open to other suggestions:
We finished painting the stair rail and spindles yesterday. Big thanks to Bunny for recommending SW Caviar for the black. I LOVE it!
I really like that last purpley/navy/pinkish one. It's different but not out there. It's also bright and bold without looking like it belongs in a playroom.
The first one is also really cute, but it might be a bit too modern for your space. You could try it though..I really like it as well.
The other three I feel like don't have enough color or are everywhere.
I like #2 because it has both gray and black in it while still being a graphic print. That same rug in a different color would look good too. I have more conservative traditional taste though.
Thanks guys! Dairy, it's so funny you picked those. The last one is my favorite and the first one is H's favorite. The walls look like a very light cinderella blue/gray and I'm just dying for a splash of bright pink. I'm glad you don't think it belongs in a playroom; that was one of my big reservations.
Fox, I also really like that one but H is pushing for "color". The dining room is adjacent and pretty monochromatic and I can't decide if I should extend that into the hallway or if that means the hallway needs color. I'm so bad at this stuff.

I like #2 the best. I also like #1 and think the circular shape is nice, but it might be too much white background for an entry. Or it would be at our house, but we seem to get things dirty easily.
I'm with Fox that my tastes are more traditional, especially for an entryway. So I like the middle one. But I also like this one: www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-verden-ikat/navy/200MJSM07B-5076.html though the sizing might be off. It's cousin in the red/gray is also nice, but I'm not sure about those grays with your gray. In general I find it's about 1 billion times easier to start with a rug, then pick a paint rather than the other way around, especially with trying to find a rug online.

I like that one too! There are several (this one included) that won't work because they're a few inches too long. The space between the door and the bottom stair is 7'3'' and from the threshold of the living room to the threshold of the dining room is 7'1''. I measured three times hoping I was wrong
Thanks everyone. I'm going to show H #2 and see if he'll go for it. Honestly, he'll probably tell me to do whatever I want but I usually try to find something that he at least likes a little bit.
Heygrey - I'll probably do some sort of art on the walls and possibly some picture frame molding. I'm trying to find two small tables that will be able to flank the front door, but there's so little space there that it's been a challenge to find something that will work. I literally have a 15'' x 20'' space on each side of the door and that's it. I can't fit any other furniture. We do have a mudroom that you enter through the garage, so this will be a guest entrance more than anything.
Someone else posted it here awhile back and I've liked it ever since. I think the gray is the right shade for the walls. I told H it's going to be a bit feminine and he's just going to have to suck it up =)
It's currently out of stock in a lot of sizes (including the one I need) but they're getting more in on Dec 20th. The product ID is SOH732K if you want to find it on another site.
