Part of me is all, "Yes. They must coordinate perfectly." Part of me is all, "Whatever the hell. What does it matter?"
I'm trying to get my master bath perfect before Christmas (My family is obsessed with using it and I don't care. It's fun to have the space to do makeup together etc).
The style I'm working on in there is "clean white." I have white walls, crackle glass jars with soap, q tips, cotton balls etc. Crackle glass candle holders on a shelf. I just bought a teak wood bathmat for in front of the shower. The color in the room comes from a green plant on the bath tub and a picture by the sink of a french couple kissing (it's greens, golds, reds). I love how fresh and bright it is, since our bathroom has a big south facing window.
My shower currently is a plae sagey green, silky like with some ruffly stuff (think a bad rip off of the anthro one everyone wanted awhile back). It was like $12.00 at Walmart years ago and is starting to fade from the wash and sun so I'm looking for a replacement. I don't know if I want a color or a pattern. I thought about white waffle weave, but I don't want my bathroom too bland and I will never be able to keep it clean without washing every week. I also thought about getting a solid color one with one big "picture" like design on it in the middle.
Problem with a pattern is I have a tendency to wild bedding. My current bedding is a Suzani print in greens, golds, reds with stripes on the other side. My other set is a C*B bright green and white floral.
Any suggestions or help for me? Inspiration pics or curtain suggestions welcome.
I'd like the curtain to be less than $50.00 if you want to help. Closer to $35.00ish would be better.
I was definitely thinking solid waffle weave or linen as I was reading this. It sounds like it would go well with the rest of the room.
We have the Lenox "chirp" set in our master bath and the color palette isn't far off from our bedroom, but definitely doesn't match. I never thought of the master bath as something that has to match the master bedroom.
Thanks. That's what I was thinking. As long as the colors coordinate, the pattern doesn't matter so much. Our shower is behind the door anyways, so it's impossible to see the shower curtain and the bedding at the same time.
I was trolling through JCP and there's a couple "seersucker" waffle weave ones that might work.
Nope, not even close. My duvet is mostly white, with a few 3D jersey flowers on it (hard to describe) and the shower curtain is black and white. I haven't done a ton of decorating in the bathroom yet, though. It needs to be redone before I bother.
It doesn't match exactly, but it doesn't clash either.
I think of the master bath as an extension of the master bedroom, just as I would a sitting area off of the master, and think they should complement each other.
I have wallpaper in my MBR and a coordinating pattern in the MBR. No shower curtain but the curtains match those in the bedroom for now. You don't ever "see" my bath unless you're actually in my room because of the layout.
My mother has a Croscill set in her bedroom with matching matchy continueing into the bath where she has coordinating towels, waste basket, jars, etc. It works well there because you see the bath from the hall to the guest rooms and it just looks more finished.
But my mother is quirky. She liked it so much, she bough a second similar set for her place in FL, though she didn't go quite as crazy with the acessories there. Her bath in FL isn't one you'd see unless you were in the room. Her furniture is nearly identical as well in both places as well. She's weird like that.
I'm a big fan of white waffle shower curtains, especially if you have a lot of other colors or change things up often. I've always had those regardless of our bedding.
We had a white waffle weave curtain in the old house and I love it. I'm pretty sure I'm painting our master bath the same color as our quilt (solid blueish gray). We have shower doors here but I think I might actually hang the white curtain back up in front of them because I don't like the look of the clear doors and being able to see everything in my shower and I want to hide it

Yeah, love white for that very reason. I just don't want it because I'd be washing the damn thing every week. I mean most people get in their shower and it's just sweat from the day on their hands. I get in my shower and it's tractor grease and barn dirt. The edges on my darker curtains even show the dirt so I have to wash them often enough..white would be bad every five minutes. It's not like white towels where I grab them already clean.

Our does not match. We have a jack n Jill bath with our guest room. Our bathroom has gray walls with a white shower curtain and tile floors. Our accessories are pearly white with a mosaic border with tans, silvers, etc. our curtain is white with brown, green, and blue. Ours is a white waffle weave from BBB.
