We have this, which is the tallest bridge in California (and was the bridge at the beginning of XXX) - not my photo:
They also shot the movie Phenomenon here, we buy our fruit at the orchard where John Travolta died (in the movie). But I can't seem to find any photos.

Firebird Festival in December. They spend weeks building the bird and ten set fire to it to symbolize the Phoenix rising from the ashes.
Our downtown - that movie theatre is where The Blob was filmed
I love our town. We can walk to all of the places above in minutes. We are 30 miles outside of Philly. The houses are beautiful. A national park is minutes away. We live within 45 minutes of TWO Ikeas and about 10 minutes from a Home Goods (for the D&R ladies...). The Jersey Shore is a little over an hour away. It's a great place to live and raise a family.

The coolest thing, in my mind, about Seattle is the landscape, and the proximity of the city to the Sound and mountains. You can go from skiing (or hiking) to sailing within an hour.
The Seattle neighborhood where we live used to be an old Scadinavian fishing village. I think is the coolest thing about our neighborhood is every Sunday, year round, we have a Farmer's market. They shut down this street (which is this historic street in our neighborhood) and have tons of vendors. They have amazing fruits, vegetables, and meats, you can get fresh breads and cheeses, crepes or wood-fired pizza, they have street musicians, etc. And you always run into people you know. Just a great sense of community (and voted one of the top 5 Farmer's Market in Washington State for three years in a row).
My town is famous for glass - it's a glass-blowing town, and the birthplace of Corelle dishes and Steuben glass.
We also have a really quaint downtown with cute, unique shops and restaurants. We're all having a festival this weekend, about you guessed it - glass, haha!
sailorgray - I was born in your town! I didn't know that about the Blob.
You're a Phoenixvillain!
Yea, Blobfest is huge!
They re-create scene where everyone runs out of the theater. My first summer here, we lived right behind the theater and I had no idea what Blobfest was and kinda freaked when I heard all of the screaming. Quirky town...
Dang, I can't think of one cool thing about the exact town I live in. It's really boring. What I find the most exciting? The ice cream shop down the street. Haha. The closest bigger city is Grand Rapids.
Grand Rapids is headquarters to many national, and multi-national companies: Steelcase, Herman Miller, Alticor (Amway), Wolverine, and Meijer stores.
In 1945 Grand Rapids was the first US city to add flouride to its drinking water.
Hm... well... we don't have "cool" stuff like a lot of the other hometowns on here. Or not anything that other places don't have. But we do have 3 universities in our town, so that's pretty cool.

I want to move to your towns. It's too hot in my town to explore anything cool. It's flat and dry, no mountains for hundreds of miles, no pretty lakes, just hot all the blasted time. The only thing we're famous for is that JFK got killed here. Oh yeah, we do have the new Cowboys Stadium. It's pretty amazing.

Dude. Metro Detroit is awesome. (and it sprawls, all of the cities are... technically separate, but it's all "Metro Detroit", kwim?) Heidelberg Project in Detroit
The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn
Adorable downtown Royal Oak with killer shopping
An epic DIY street fair in Ferndale (no "art show", it's like an Etsy fair)
The best cider EVER (and a ton of cider mills- this is Franklin, my favorite, originally built in 1837)
Amazingly cool, modern businesses like THIS.....
...... inside of "decrepit" buildings like THIS
Plus here you can find massive neighborhoods full of homes built from 1900 through 2000- there's something (design-wise) for everyone! And it's cheap. And the fall is amazing. And Michigan is just the best!
For me, the coolest thing about my town is that the roads are scenic and winding and I can meander along at 35 mph without anyone riding up my ass and making me feel rushed. Additionally, when I need to turn left and there are cars coming, someone will always stop and wave me along. I came from a place so opposite of this, so for me, this is absolutely the best thing about where I am now.
It's scenic. Even on the interstate. Their are mountains that look amazing no matter what the season.
This Walkway is pretty cool...it's about 20 minutes away, but not in our actual town
About 3 minutes away there is a MASSIVE Flea Market/Antiques show which happens once a month. I have never been, but everyone I know has told me I need to go and apparently people come from mile around to attend this thing

Clearly you can't live that far from me, lol. There are cool things/places, you just have to know where to look!
I will agree that it's too damn hot, though. I just calculated the other day and we have at least 5 months of summer here. Bleh.

Is your username Wawa as in THE Wawa?
We live in Holland (on the border of Newtown) which isn't too far from Phoenixville, but we lived in Jersey before.
LOL, yes, but in a roundabout way. My little sister couldn't say my name and it came out as Wawa. My mom thought it was hilarious because of THE wawa, and she started calling me that.
Since my actual first name is kinda old ladyish it stuck, and it's what everybody has called me since I was 6.
