So I went to C&B yesterday and got glasses for: craft beer, blonde, ales, lagers. The stemmed Pilsner only comes in a much more expensive set of 2 and he doesn't drink Pilsner enough to warrant that. We drink Hefe more often, and those also only come in a set of 2 for $30. I've looked, but I can't seem to find a nicer glass (than the Libby like you'd buy at Cost Plus) as individuals for the Hefe or the Pilsner. Macy's only sells their Cellar beer glasses in sets of 4.
Then we get in to the really confusing that they have a different shaped "Pilsner" glass and I can't figure out which beer is supposed to be in the "Portland" glass. Ack...any major beer afficianados who can help? (I don't know why they removed this picture from their website, it was helpful, but it doesn't show those 2 glasses on it.)
I was trying to get unbranded, but should I maybe just go buy a Chimay-branded stemmed Pilsner since it will be half the price and he won't really want/need 2 of those. Should I go ahead and buy the more expensive Hefe set of 2 (since those are my favorite to drink anyway)?
If the hefe are your favorite to drink and you will get a lot of use out of it I would say go ahead and buy it.
In terms of the branded beer glass. We only like them if they have significance like a favorite beer, brewery, etc. A random branded glass tends to get tossed.
The Portland glass on C&B seems very similar to a traditional Pilsner glass to me.

This.
I don't know what goes in the direction pilsner from c&b, but if you need a pilsner I'd recommend that one. We have them and the glass is nice and weighty.
Thanks! I didn't think to check Sur La Table. W-S only sells everything in sets. SLT does as well, but they have the exact same set of Pilsner stemmed and Hefe glasses for $9 less a set and are also offering free shipping.

If you haven't bought them yet I may have a coupon at my office. I will pm you the code tomorrow if needed. I believe it is 20% off.
