We have a bunch of books that we are looking to sell. Was wondering if anybody has experience with selling used books on Amazon or if it is better to go with eBay instead. It looks like Amazon charges .99 cent per item plus 15%.
I'll be watching this thread for an answer, but I've only sold to half price books. They barely pay anything, but it was enough for lunch and the books left the house.

I sold used text books online on Amazon as a private seller in college. It was a great experience and I always got a lot more than the university book store would give me.

After posting some books on there I can say I'm not quite a fan due to all the fees as an individual seller.
1) .99 cent fee for all items sold 2) 15% commission to Amazon. They also take 15% off the shipping charge that was added. 3) Variable closing fee of $1.35
For low value items like books at $5.00 the fees are about 40% of the cost. I'm not even sure what I am getting will cover the shipping of the item. I have cancelled all the other books that I listed and will post them on eBay instead.
