How was everyone's holiday? Have you all recovered from too much turkey/travel/family-time? I hope everyone had a great holiday, and good weekend!
We survive my mom's Thanksgiving visit, and I managed to get her home and be back by 7:30 that night. Not too shabby. I had saved most of a bottle of white wine I used for the turkey, so I finished that off and went to bed at like 9:30.
Friday, we went to see Lincoln - it was ok; I didn't hate it, but it wasn't my favorite movie this year. It was a little too Spielberg-Schmaltzy for my tastes, but Daniel Day-Lewis was really amazing. Then we grabbed dinner at the Cellar and I gorged on the Animal-Style burger (a burger with foie gras pate, onions, and chicharrones - so good, but oh my god, so filling and so rich!). Saturday, we ran errands and hit the gym, and spoiled the poocher on his birthday, heh. Yesterday, I went to visit a friend and her three-month old twins, who are ADORABLE. We grabbed lunch when her husband got home, and got to gossip about work stuff for a while. Then I collapsed on the couch and finished a book.
Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving!
Wed - Made the drive down to my parents house, the drive which typically takes 3 hours took 4.5. The pike was the worst and it took 2 hours to get from Boston to Worcester.
My future MIL canceled on us for the 2nd year in a row, so we didn't have her to deal with. I had a great time hanging out with my family, including my brother and new SIL, who is so much fun.
Friday - I registered for my china/glassware and flatwear. Saturday - My mom and I picked out the wedding invitation. Sunday - Made the drive back and hit traffic all along the way.
My back is still killing me so I've been to the chiro this morning and have an apt with the ortho on Wednesday morning. Fingers are crossed for an injection of something to give me some relief as I have made no real progress and it's been going on for 10 days.

We had our friends over for Thanksgiving. They had been in Japan and arrived around 1am on Thanksgiving. But they all showed and brought some inlaws with them. We got to serve her parents their first turkey! It was fun and everyone seemed to enjoy it, even her parents that don't speak or understand English
I'm sorry to report that the turducken was very "meh." I think I was expecting this sort of three-layered slab o' meat but basically there were pieces of turkey, pieces of duck, and pieces of chicken (and I never found a piece of chicken to try). There was way too much stuffing IMO and it was all just kind of OK.
Oh, that's disappointing. Boo to you, disappointing turducken
...aaaaand with that, Disappointing Turducken is totally the name of my new band, heh.

Our Thanksgiving was good... a bit exhausting to be around so much extended family -- all my step siblings came with their blended families & it was just a lot of people.
We got a lot of Christmas shopping done this weekend, too, which is good... but now I am broke & still have more to do.
