lol. i got picked to go in for this huge trial.. but it's three weeks long (at least) and my employer doesn't pay at all and i don't have enough vacation so it would be a problem.. so i got released from that and sent home at noon with a bunch of other people.. i had to call back last night and i'm due back today to potentially get picked for another, shorter trial. not interested.. hopefully i won't get picked.
looked it up. it doesn't state a limit. so now i reeeeeeallly want to get picked for a long trial!! i remember my 3rd grade teacher got picked for a 3 month trial. i want that one.
Washington law says employers, "shall provide an employee with sufficient leave of absence from employment when that employee is summoned" for jury duty. It also says employers, "shall not deprive an employee of employment or threaten, coerce, or harass an employee or deny an employee promotional opportunities" for serving as a juror. It does not say your employer has to pay you while you serve.
