I sold a pair of shoes to someone with an APO address at the end of Oct. The tracking has been showing as "in transit" for the last 2 weeks and he was contacting me every day for an update.
On Friday the shoes were in my mail box - returned to me because of "insufficient zip" as per the note from USPS. I emailed the buyer and told him that I had double checked the address and it was definitely the one he had given me on paypal and maybe he wrote it wrong. I said I would refund him the cost of the shoes but not the shipping because I shipped exactly as per the instructions. I didn't refund straightaway as I was waiting to hear back from him.
He just emailed me saying it's not fair to charge him the shipping and we should split the costs because "it is hard for both of us, I am in the military and you are in Canada" He knew I was in Canada when he bought from me though. If I split the costs I will be out for this whole episode plus the fees to ebay etc - wwyd? Should I contact ebay?

Yes I used paypal but I don't think Canadians can print the tracking from their website. I do have my receipt from the post office and $50 insurance on it as well. I also took a screenshot of his paypal address and of course I have the package with the USPS tape all over it.
I guess I should contact ebay and tell them the situation?
