I was having a conversation today with my daycare kids about the baby. They like to touch my belly and talk to it, and I'm trying to prepare them for the fact that a newborn will be in the house soon.
I asked them what they think we should name it. We talked all about their names and the names of the two babies who come to daycare...I was thinking I was prepping them pretty good to understand what I was asking.
3. but in the kids' defense, they are totally innocent and had no idea what they were saying. They probably heard the word somewhere, or in a song...I told the mom and explained that I also may have misheard what they were saying but I was pretty sure they said sexy.
this kid is as sweet and innocent as they come, I wasn't worried.

LOL! Sounds like something I would have done. Seriously - I was clueless about certain "bad" words until like 5th grade.
ex. riding home on the bus, 3rd grade. Older kid says "Cowboys suck" (probably in reference to a superbowl or other big game). I get home, helping mom with laundry: "Mom! Who are you rooting for in [whatever game]? I'm rooting for [other team] because the Cowboys suck!" Mom makes googly-eyed face and asks where I heard that word.
ex #2: 5th grade. Walking from homeroom to another class. Behind a group of boys who keep talking about "pussy" (yes, too young to be talking about this, but that was for their parents to deal with). Me: "Oh! I love cats - I have 2!" Insert grown-up shame-face here.

I think we have our names picked out. Not set in stone, but we are pretty sure.
I like classic, feminine names for girls and anything for a boy that is definitively a boy name. No unisex names, no names that sound girlie in any way, and no femmy nick names can be made from them.
some names we liked but didn't end up picking For a girl, Lauren, Elizabeth, Mackenzie. I loved Grace but DH vetoed it even for a middle name.
For a boy, Jackson, Ethan, Lucas, Tyler
We're pretty sure we have a name for both a boy and a girl...but I am still in the stage of looking at names just to make SURE the names we picked are my favorites and nothing else jumps out at me.

I love your name list Peach, and I only point this out because you said you don't want unisex names....but you know Tyler can also be a girl's name, right?
To share mine...my friend's 4 year old got polled on baby names (my friend is also KU'd). If it was a girl she wanted Bella. (no shock there. the kids names everything bella) and if it was a boy she wanted Harry.
we have jackson and tyler on our top 3 boy names list, too, so i like your style.
dh is pretty set on tyler for a boy right now. i've tried to nudge him with jackson and samuel. he likes them and hasn't vetoed them, but always comes back to tyler.
for a girl we are going with the same name we had picked out if ds had been a girl.
Kids are fun. And nuts. A little girl we know used to call my DD "baby Cole" (my name is Nicole) before she was born, and Colette was actually on our list even though she didn't know that. She would have been thrilled if we ended up naming her that....but we didn't :-) It is still on our list for phantom DD#2 though.
