I absolutely love my Christmas traditions with DH. We go see The Nutcracker every year then drive around looking at lights. Christmas Eve after getting home from my parent's house, we exchange PJs and sit in front of the fire with the tree on talking about life. Christmas day we have a quite morning with just the two of us. We have lots of mimosas, breakfast casserole, homemade cinnamon rolls and open stockings and presents. We spend the rest of the relaxing and playing games with my family who is able to stop by. I make a really nice dinner that evening.
This year it will simply be time away from work with a 4 day weekend. I'm unhappy at my job, and I got screwed out of a week of vacation because of my boss' maternity leave, so I need some time away to forget about it all. Other than that....
Watching Christmas movies with the Christmas tree lit up sipping on eggnog. I enjoy staying home on Christmas morning with just our little family. We make coffee, have breakfast, open our gifts and relax. Also, having dinner at my aunt's house with a gift exchange game is always a blast. I look forward to it every year.
At this point, I love how excited DD gets about pretty much everything Chistmas-related.
But the whole season is really fun for me. Christmas carols, decorating, baking stuff that I've been baking with family for decades, just the general cheer of it (as long as I do my shopping online!).
Now that we have kids, we have started a lot of traditions:
1) train ride with Santa 2) going to downtown Philly to the light show and Dicken's Village at Wanamakers. 3) we recently joined a church and I look forward to the Christmas Eve service 4) Christmas Candylane at Hersheypark (kinda a trek, but oh well!) 5) Christmas at Dutch Wonderland

I usually just love being with my family. There are a lot of us and it gets crazy being packed into one house, but I just love it. (Poor DH)
This year since I'm about to pop out a baby, we are staying home and I'm REALLY looking forward to DDs first Christmas that she is excited and aware. She is already SO excited for all the decorations!
This year I am looking forward to our holiday with my family in AZ. We spend every other year with them, and this year will be the first time since my father died that we will all be together. One niece is a chef and never makes it back to AZ for Christmas, but this year she will be there and will be getting married while we are all there. My daughter who lives in Japan will be in AZ too, but I think she will miss Christmas and the actual wedding, but she will make it to the open house reception a couple of days later.
I will say that I enjoy our simpler Christmases on the off year every bit as much...they are just very different. It is usually just the two of us, and we make it a pajama day filled with good food, movies, games, and presents. If our kids/grandchildren are with us, it is just one big pajama party.

I hope we can fit it all in!
Which train ride?
We used to do Strasburg and New Hope & Ivyland. Even now DS and DH will typically chase NH&IRR 40 through the countryside shooting video.
DS is working some of the Santa Trains for the Black River & Western out of Flemington NJ. He and I created a coloring book that is their Santa Gift this year.

I love Christmas. Besides the day-of guilt, that is. Everything about it - the decorations, the music, everything. And I'm looking forward to going to SF with R this year to look at Christmas windows, making a metric-ass-ton of cookies (R wants to do 12 days of cookies for his office), and just overall having a relaxing time.
I just love the warmth and joy of the holiday season...I'm not sure how else to explain that. I love watching White Christmas numerous times, wrapping presents, the smell of a fresh Christmas tree, watching the Christmas movies on tv and being with family and friends.
I'm bummed this year that I have to work 12/24 and 12/26.

I love most everything about this time of year (other than the cold). It's DS's first Christmas, and while I know he won't appreciate it, I do think he'll love staring at the lights on the tree when we get it up this weekend, and playing with wrapping paper.
I love Christmas music, Christmas decorations, finding the perfect gifts for people, getting gifts (what can I say, I'm still a kid at heart), spending time with my family...all of that good stuff. PLUS I have off the whole week between Christmas and New Years, so I'm definitely looking forward to that!
