We bought two tickets while driving back from an OOT Thanksgiving celebration on Sunday evening. It seems like the winning ticket is always sold at some small town convenience store, so we stopped at a rinky-dink gas station in a town of 500 people to buy our tickets.
We're buying some tickets. And if we win, we'll be moving to a state that allows you to claim anonomously. Probably Maryland since that's where my family lives. We could easily rent an apartment, fly there to get new drivers licenses, and then claim it (after serious discussions with sarajoy and volenti).

We bought one on Sunday when H spotted the machine and the jackpot amount. I really don't want to win a HUGE jackpot. Too many problems will follow. But a few million would be fine with me.
Whenever there's a large jackpot, I always buy just one ticket. If I'm supposed to win the lotto, I don't need to waste more than a dollar to get it. It will be meant to be.
MH is the one who told me about the jackpot and that we should get a ticket. He's the first to admit it's a waste of money, but I think he's just tired of work lately so even the lottery seems like a good idea.
DH has bought into his office pool, and I picked up a single ticket. I agree I'd rather win a relatively small amount ($200K?) just to pay of debts, student loans, and mortgage to give us a clean slate, get 2 newer cars (nothing fancy) and have a nice vacation. We could handle savings and retirement so much easier if we could just get rid of the debt, and I'd hate to have people come out of the woodwork (e.g. my mom) just because we became randomly and publicly filthy rich. DH and I always discuss seriously that we'd meet with a financial advisor before announcing we won, and love to dream about what our first purchase would be once we had the money.
