I have never played the lottery other than some scratch offs I got as stocking stuffers. The lottery makes me nervous. Seems like if you win your life is pretty much ruined...mo money mo problems.
I never play. DH says he is playing though. We joked around last night that we would have to immediately go into hiding because our family would be hunting us down. DH said after our names were made public we would never spend another night in our current home.
Nope. But I'm thinking of buying a ticket for the mega millions or whatever the tiny little $50 million jackpot lottery is called. Seems like a great way to go unnoticed is to win a mere $50million the same week someone else wins a record breaker. I could try to make due with that paltry sum.
dh watched one of those lottery winner specials on E once where like every person they knew tragically died afterward...it freaked me out
There used to be a show on TLC or one of those type of channels where they hosted various lottery winners and showed what they did with their winnings. It seems like most of them led pretty good lives. Don't despair!
I might buy a ticket, it really depends on which way I go home, lol!
If we were to win, there would be a lot of things to get in order, although I would want to collect anonymously. I would also probably be trying to track down volenti and sarajoy, for advice.
would you stay on MM if you won or would you have to isolate yourself from the best internet people ever? See, TRAGEDY!
We had a lottery winner once (or do she claimed), if I recall. She was getting divorced and was separated when she won, but there was drama about claiming and owing the STBX of she claimed before the divorce. Or something.
I bought one for the first time when it got way up there earlier this year. I bought $10 worth of tickets, and didn't match a single number. It was a lot like my first casino experience. I was excited for a minute, then sad and wanted my $10 back.
Yes. You have to use cash. If you want to pick numbers, you fill out a bubble card. If you want randoms, just hand them cash as say you want quick picks.
If you want to do both, fill out a bubble card for the tickets you want to choose numbers for, then fill in the "QP" bubble for both the numbers and the power ball for the other tickets. It's up to 5 tickets per bubble card.
DH always uses his debit card, I've seen signs at some places that say cash only though. I'm pretty sure, at least in my state, that you can't use credit cards of any sort to buy lottery tickets.
I'm in on our office pool at work. We normally play the MegaMillions since tickets are still $1 but we go in on Powerball whenever it is above $200 million. So we're all crossing our fingers that we'll win $49 million tonight and $450 million tomorrow............a cool 1/2 billion dollars in our pockets. LMAO.
I bought 3 this morning and immediately regretted it because the tickets were $2 and not $1 like Mega Millions. For some reason I was ok with throwing away $3, but the thought of losing $6 pains me.
Guy yelled at me that I HAD to buy the ticket as he had already printed it. I had to RUMMAGE through my work bag to come up with another $1 in change.
I bet there was an MM'er in line behind you judging you for counting change to pay. Clearly digging for change means your bank account is at $0 and you have a passel of barefoot children at home, probably all by different men and on food stamps.
Yes, although I'd rather win the second highest level (like 4 numbers plus the powerball). I think winning the big one would shake up our lives Ina way that sucks, bit a 100kwindfall would be nice.
Software problems and heavy demand that slowed some Georgia Lottery machines Sunday and Monday didn’t seem to be stymying persistent lottery players hopeful of winning Wednesday’s record $425 million Powerball jackpot.
But every place I've been to (grocery store, gas station, etc) the machines have been down. It's a conspiracy.
And it's $2 for a reg ticket and $3 for a PowerPlay in GA. :-|
