Ohhh I took a million photos. How to choose? I was so sad and depressed to leave, we had such a fabulous time. You will LOVE it fuss. And you will fit right in with maxi dresses!
We did a LOT of hiking on our trip. We did the first leg of the Kalalau trail (Na Pali coast) to the beach, but not the waterfall. My keens were killing me and I wasn't sure I could make it the full 8 miles. We also hiked some of Waimea Canyon and the Na Pali coast from the south side and the Nounou mountain (sleeping giant) trail near our place in Kapa'a). Fuss I would recommend Captain Andy's sunset dinner cruise to the Na Pali coast if you don't get seasick. I took drugs, but still felt sick the whole time. Some lady was yacking her brains out the whole time everywhere on the boat, it was so gross.
We also visited Koloa Rum, they had free tastings! And a meadery that was in Kapa'a. We did a chocolate tour in Wailua that was cool and mainly a farm tour that introduced us to lesser known fruits and veggies on the island, but it was really pricey.
It gave us great advice on where to go and what to do. Most of the time we hiked about 5-10 minutes to get to a secluded beach or hike. It was nice having the beach to ourselves ( ) and also to be on a lot of hikes alone as well. I loved that there wasn't a lot of commercialism on the island too. I'll post some of my favorite photos, let me gather them up!
Our 5k was rough. We ran our worst time, mainly due to being up late at an open bar luau the night before. Oops!
FI was NOT happy with me when I woke him up at 6am to leave for the 5k since it took us about 45 minutes to drive to it. Oops.
You must try their shave ice - some are better than others. We only tried two and they were pretty tasty. Hee Fat's General Store in Kapa'a and Koloa shaved ice and they were great. It's shaved ice with ice cream on the bottom drenched in flavored syrups.

Maybe I will! I like boats of all kinds and don't get seasick, fortunately. I've lived in CA 15 years and have yet to go whale watching here. I'm sure it's a much warmer activity there!
We went in March (or Feb?) and the whales were everywhere. It was so beautiful. Brad went diving and he could hear them singing. It made me sad that I did not dive that trip.
Here are some of my fave photos. FB buddies can see almost 300 of them that I posted this past weekend. If you want to see more, let me know! I love sharing them.
This is secret beach, it wasn't safe to swim when we were there. It was about a 10 minute hike down a steep incline. The beach was beautiful and a cool place to watch surfers.
This is Hanalei Bay - also wasn't safe to swim, but I hear it's great for snorkeling when it is safe. This is where some of the movie the Descendants was filmed.
This is Hanalei Valley - so pretty!
The start of the Kalalau trail!
Na Pali coast from the Kalalau trail <3
This is the top of the Nounou Mountain, it was so beautiful and you could see a large portion of the east coast. It was also completely terrifying to be sitting on one rock that high up!

A cheesy canyon shot:
'Anini beach - absolutely gorgeous!
