We are doing the Salvation Army tree at work and I chose an 8 year old who wants barbies, vanity set and bay blades. I have no idea what the last thing is. I am getting her a couple of Barbies, one thing of bay blades once I figure out what it is, and I am stuck on a vanity set. I can't get her a full vanity set. Could she just want like a princess mini vanity with mirror as fake makeup? At 8, would she want real princess lipsticks or fake?? Obviously, I have no experience with kids.
I would probably get a small vanity set and some real make-up (but like the Hello Kitty stuff at Target).
My niece is 7 and would laugh at you if you gave her plastic make-up, lol.
Thank you! I'm on amazon and they don't have the ages listed. I couldn't figure how old the girl was on the box. Great idea about the hello kitty stuff.
Some companies have peel off nail polish. I loved it as a kid because I wasn't allowed to wear nail polish to school so I could still practice and just peel it off. I also loved Lip Smackers.
You could but some of the aforementioned Hello Kitty make-up, lip smackers, or maybe some inexpensive jewelry from a Claire's kind of place in the little drawer. When I was maybe 10 or so I got one of those Conair light up make-up mirrors and some cheap make-up for Christmas, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Something like that might work, too.
BTW, beyblades are these kind of pointless spinning top things based on a weird anime show. My 5 year old DS wants them, too. The good news is you can find them about anywhere, and they aren't very expensive.
I was going to suggest a makeup mirror but that tabletop vanity looks cool.
Any sort of makeup would probably work. Especially stuff with glitter would be super cool. But a lot of times at Christmas you can get real makeup set at department stores that have a zillion eyeshadows and lip gloss for around $10 - it's real makeup, but cheap stuff and perfect for that age.
