we have this weird pocket thing going on with the kitchen window. rather than cutting down the backsplash to be flush with the window sill or some other logical idea, the raw edge of the counter is exposed and reflects in the window. i hate it. but adding some greenery and lights made a huge difference for the holidays. i'm trying to think of something i can do for spring/summer/fall to make that area a little less renovated-by-someone-who-shouldn't-be-trusted-with-a-screwdriver.
and this is a subtle aw of our view. i love looking at the lake and mountains even when it's all cloudy and blah in the winter.
Great decor pics! I'm not a regular here but I used to be on TN. We won't have a tree because we're traveling for Christmas but I love to decorate my mantle and other areas. Here are my decor pics:
I think I have about 5 more trees to post but I haven't gotten around to taking pics yet.
A couple of good ideas for tree skirts I had. I mounded up some fake snow and draped with 1.5 yards of fleece. Not original or anything, but it was super full and looked really nice. Another super cheap one was I got 2 strands of that kinda tacky but pretty full shiny sparkly pld school garland stuff and spiraled it around the base of a tree. I used two colors alternated them and I think it looks pretty nice.
