when it goes over 200mil a twin mom group i'm part of does a pool... so if you see a bunch of moms with a TON of little kids running around on the news- you'll know we won
I've never bought a ticket. How many do people typically buy?
It just takes ONE
I like to buy one or 2 whenever I'm out and about when its HIGH like this. So maybe 10 total? I'm willing to shell out $20 for a chance at half a billion.
Sorry to break it to you guys, but it's going to be me. I chipped in on a pool w/ some friends, and we spread out our ticket buying across multiple states in order to increase our chances.

I almost feel like if I won that much money I would hold off on claiming it for awhile because I have no idea what one does with that much money. I am assuming there are various investments or trusts or whatever that you could park it in, but I am a basic savings-and-checking-and-401k kind of girl -- that is a completely unfamiliar world to me, and it would therefore cause some overwhelmed paralysis on my part.
I'd have to drive at least 90 minutes to be anywhere near a gas station that sells lotto tickets. It's not worth it if I don't win but totally worth it if I did. LOL.
Last time it was huge like this my husbands pool got 5 out of 6 numbers and the powerball. You dont actually win that much for that. Especially when split amongst a ton of people. But its not often you hear of people getting that close so I count it as the one time we won the lottery. So I dont think karma will allow me to win again.

yeah, that is like $10,000, but if you get 5/5 and no PB, its like a meeeeeeellion dollars. How does that make ANY sense??
I'm with Jenny. It gets me all anxious to think about having that much money and kidnappers lurking in the shadows. (I don't even have kids. Obviously I am a very anxious person by nature.) That said, I still sent DH out for tickets because I'm hoping I get just enough numbers to pay off my mortgage. And I'd rather be on Xanax with $500 million than not on it with a mortgage, student loans, a car loan and a credit card.

winning that much wouldn't make a difference vs. winning a few million to me - just more i'd give away, and more i'd save. I don't imagine i'd be spending tons more by winning many more millions...
we don't want a HUGE house (just something bigger than we have now)... i don't care about super expensive clothing or jewlery... i'd like to take some fun trips with my whole family coming along....
but much of it would be invested and donated to charity (and given to family). I just can't think of keeping that much money and feeling good about it.
