DH and I both woke up with a sore throat on Thanksgiving. I had flu-like symptoms through the weekend, and went to the doctor Monday. He said I had bronchitis. Got some medicine and I'm already starting to feel better.
Today, DH is feeling like I did, and he has all the symptoms of bronchitis. He went to the doctor today, and he also has bronchitis, but the doc said he has some fluid in his lungs and he might be starting to get pneumonia. Now all of a sudden the world is ending. I'm getting up to the minute reports of his symptoms via text, he's telling everyone that it's my fault he's sick, he makes sure to be dramatic whenever he can.
I'm not a cold heartless bitch who doesn't care that her husband may have pneumonia. However, he is currently making plans to do things this evening, despite the doctor's warning to rest. I hope that the medicine works for him just as quickly...I can't handle a toddler AND a man-child!

My H is the WORST when he's sick. The last few days, his thing has been complaining and whining of back pain incessantly, getting me to do stuff for him, asking for 100 backrubs a day...but refusing to do something that might actually HELP the back pain like chiropractor, deep tissue massage, painkillers, etc. Maddening.
Its awful isnt it? And of course DH refuses to do anything about his man cold normally, no meds, no doc, etc. SO I listen to him complain. But really in my household neither of us give each other any pity for being sick, and for me, especially if he refuses to go to the doctor, I sorta just avoid him while he is sick.
MH complains a lot on a good day, so on days when he's sick I just never hear the end of it 8-D
I think females are just conditioned from childhood to "suck it up" or keep quiet moreso than males when it comes to personal comfort. Or we deal with things like periods and cramps so often that we've learned that complaining gets us nowhere and we may as well learn how to deal with occasional discomfort.
