I want to stack them in their closet and use them as storage for odds and ends like baby shoes, and anything else you want facing out or organized. I figure once he gets a little older they can be used for random toy storage in the closet, or to pack away things that are not in use.
Does anyone make "milk crate clips"? You know, something to clip the crates together so they can be used as stacked shelves/cubes without falling over? I know I've seen people stack them for casual use many times, and most milk crates don't snap together. I'm worried about having all of the cubes full, the stack being bumped, and everything falling over.
Ohh, zip ties would work if no one is aware of clips. I could even trim off the extra bit, and they come in clear. Smart! I'm pretty sure we have some in the garage. I had no luck searching out terms like clips and connectors on Amazon.
Jenny - I thought about Ikea, but didn't want solid white or black, and wanted something that could be separated. So cubed shelves were out.
I would also consider anchoring them to the wall. You should be able to do that pretty easily, which would keep the entire stack of cubes from falling over (even if they are zip tied together).

They're going to be in the closet and won't have anything remotely heavy in them. Small toddler shoes, maybe hats/gloves, and spare receiving blankets or burp cloths, soft packs of wipes, etc.
