and he wants to take my ipad with him.
This is stressing me out. I want to scream "NO!" and then dramatically lock myself (and it) in the bedroom, but that would not be the mature thing to do.
I keep hoping that he'll forget about it, but I don't think he will.
I was the same way with my ipad. Then the kid had it in the car, tucked away under the front seat because we were getting out and DH managed to push the passenger seat back and clip the corner of it and cracking it. It happens, just get a protective case for it and try to trust him. It's just an ipad.
I'm guessing you have some minor good qualities too.
I still go with no and wouldn't feel one bit bad about it.
I'm also saying this because I know there's no way in hell or heaven that I'd have a techie thing if DH also didn't have it.
Does he not have a laptop? An mp3 player? What would he use the ipad for, internet connectivity mostly? Tell him to go on a vacation and try to unplug.
If it's any consolation at all, my BF's 3 year old is pretty brutal with the ipad and nothing has happened to it. (Please god, don't let this be a jinx)
By the way, I am NOT siding with your H , I am simply giving you information.

That is the best part, Gretch - his mom is afraid of the internet. She has never and will never use it. His stepdad checks email like once a month on it. lol

So sign them up, and cancel it after a month. Tell the service guys, "nope, she's still scared of it. Weird, huh?"

WE did this. When I went there in 2007 with DH, we were tired of the dial up (and only one user per line).
So we told mom and dad to install cable and to buy a router. We convinced them that if they didn't like it, they could cancel.

honestly, I don't know if their computer would even work on modern day Internet. I am not shitting you that they still have windows 95.
We really can't afford to get him one right now, I only have one because it was a gift.

Oh yeah, that is true. But wouldn't there be a connection fee and everything, in addition to the monthly bill? Plus, he is leaving on Thursday morning.
Be nice and it will come back to you Back when I only had a tablet I let H take it for some work trips. Of course, he was the one who bought it for me, so I felt semi-obligated, lol. But I'm sure he'll really appreciate it!

But....but....how will you take pictures??? I kid! I kid! But I did see a dumbass mom throwing elbows at the aquarium to get video of her kids dancing with the Bumble. But she didn't trample Lucy or my nephew so it's all good!
