What kind? Where was it? What kind of treatment did you do to get rid of it?
I picked up something in Hawaii - on my neck, shoulders and chest. I think it's a heat rash. I got a prescription steroid cream from the doctor on Monday. It's taken away the burning, but man is it itchy and bright red. I'm not sure if I should call the derm or try out the cream for a few more days.
I have keratosis pilaris on my arms. I don't do anything for that. There are some prescription creams that you can try, but they're spotty with effectiveness. There's also no cure. It's not normally itchy or anything, it's just an eyesore.
I also have eczema that comes and goes. I just use an eczema cream when it pops up.
I slather lotion on everywhere, every morning. I use a lot of lotion. I have to keep my skin moisturized because of the KP... and it's kind of a preventive for the eczema.
ETA: I'm allergic to birth control pills. It took 3 years to figure out that it was the BCPs that was giving me full body hives (apparently that type of allergy to BCPs is really, really odd). For those 3 years, all of the various Benadryl things (cream, spray, dabby roll on stuff) were my savior.

Last rash I had was an external yeast infection (right in my joint) and a secondary infection moved in. It was excrutiating because it was right where the elastic on my underwear fell. My doctor gave me an antibiotic ointment to put on it and some antibiotics to take. I felt better the next day.
I used to get hives a lot when I was a kid. Benadryl was a life saver.
I'll third the Benedryl. Orally or spray. I once got an allergic rash prior to getting chicken pox - the dr. said I was allergic to chicken pox. I also got a rash from the water/sand?? at the beach that lasted about a week and a half.
I picked something up in Mexico once. I didn't have health insurance so my mom and I bought every kind of fungal cream we could find. It worked. My Mexican mystery rash cleared up. I did have to throw away the sandals I wore on that trip, because I was convinced this funk lived in the shoes at that point.

It's been several days since you got back from HI, right? If so, I doubt you'd still have a heat rash from your trip. Usually once you change your environment the heat rash will start to go away. I've been getting heat rash since I was a kid.
I'd call the doc if the cream doesn't clear it up in another day or so.

I get hives. I have some severe food allergies. It usually takes a couple rounds of steroids to go away when I have a really bad reaction. I use pills not creams. It usually starts on my face and spreads down my neck and chest.

I get raging heat rash and steroid cream has always worked. There was one time it was worse than I've ever seen it and I needed a stronger script, but have never needed to go to the derm for it
Thanks guys, mine must have been a contact allergy because it's still (partially) hanging around. I wonder if I touched a certain plant or something on a hike. I don't think I'll know. Most of it has decreased significantly on my neck and shoulders/arms, there is still some redness and thick skin on the skin on my chest under my neck. I'll probably be calling the derm next week if that doesn't clear up. It's not burning or really itchy anymore though, so that's a plus!
